BT Vision reception and other PVRs
Hi
I've had BT Vision for 4 or 5 years now, with no major problems. However, a few weeks ago, some of the ITV channels were showing a black screen, and then disappeared when I did a channel scan. Now I have lost virtually all channels, when I do a scan it finds only 6 TV channels and 11 radio, and the signal quality on those that I do have is so bad that they are unwatchable. I called BTV tech people yesterday who said that it won't be a fault with my BTV box, but with my aerial strength (I know that the BTV box reduces the signal strength). They suggested getting a digital signal booster, which I have done today, did a rescan and still only get 6 useless TV channels ![]() I don't know what else I can do, I have also unplugged the rarely used bedroom TV from the aerial, so as to give the BTV box the best chance of getting a good enough signal. If BTV cannot help me any more (going to call them tonight), I'm thinking of buying a combined Freeview box/PVR. I'd rather not have to, but I miss being able to watch my TV! My question is, will a twin tuner Freeview/PVR box reduce the signal in the same way that the BTV box does? |

Hi
Please ignore this thread! Have done a bit of investigation work and have discovered that it's 99% likely to be my external aerial that needs fixing |

Yeah, I must say I think the DTT tuner in the vision box is actually one of the most sensitive I have come across.
Believe it or not, I am actually running the whole BT Vision service, including sky sports, from an INDOOR aerial I bought from tesco for £9! |
