‘EastEnders’ Matt Lapinskas Reveals Anthony Moons Background

New EastEnder Matt Lapinskas has revealed details of his character Anthony Moon’s background, and that Anthony has always “worshipped” his half-brother Michael.In an interview with Inside Soap, Matt first discussed therelationship between Anthony and Michael (Steve JohnShepherd), saying, “Anthony just idolises him. When they were little, Michael corrupted Anthony into really looking up to him.
“The fact of the matter is that Michael has his own business and has all this money coming in, without having to worry about all the family politics…
“So Anthony’s in awe of that. Also, Michael has this incredible confidence.”
And when asked if Anthony has a good relationship with his dad Eddie (David Essex), Matt replied, “Yes, he does – and he wants to show his dad that he’s the man to take over the [family] business.
“For Anthony, his main interest is the antiques emporium – forget the girls!
“That said, if he does take over from Eddie, then maybe there could be time for a lady in his life for once. There might be somebody new for him.”
Anthony’s brother Tyler, who’s played by Tony Discipline, arrived on the Square at the end of June.

EastEnders newcomer Matt Lapinskas has revealed co-star Tony Discipline, who plays his on-screen sibling Tyler Moon, is like a brother to him.The actor’s character Anthony is the latest addition to Albert Square, and despite a daunting start, Matt is settling in well.
He told Inside Soap: “(Tony’s) already like the brother I never had! We’ve got dressing rooms next to each other and have a great relationship off set.
“That comes across very strongly on screen, I think.”
Matt insisted that despite their bond off-screen, the Moon brothers are like chalk and cheese.
“Tyler’s hot-headed, whereas Anthony would never be seen in a fight. He’s a thinker and likes to talk his way out of situations.
“Also, Tyler will chat up anything with a pulse and be successful – but while Anthony can get the girls, once they’ve been on a few dates with him, they’ll be bored.
“He always overcomplicates things!”
Matt is also enjoying working with singer David Essex, who plays Tyler and Anthony’s dad Eddie.
“He’s such a nice guy. I knew who he was before I started because my mum and aunt are massive fans. I said to them casually, ‘Yeah I’m auditioning for a role and David Essex is my dad’ and they were like, ‘Oh my God!’.”

And talked about how they got the role and what they did before, they worked to pay for their drama school and got to this point, and how both came from small communities, i liked how Matt said its like achieving something big for the community then yourself

Also hinted that there might be a strong female coming in, from the Moon clan probably Frankie - Carol asked them that question about a strong female and they said maybe not giving anything away

I liked the interview, he sounded quite different from Anthony, more confident, etc. Proves he's a good actor.
