Bacon goes crisp and glistens when it is cooked. It is no longer flat.

I have to cook bacon in many differing ways, some in the family like it cooked crispy, some cooked through, some just cooked.

When we all sit down at the same meal of bacon eggs and all the trimmings, I must admit I do get a little trottered! by the end

Me too, I'll only have it crispy and without the rind.

Is it possible it was out of date in the packet? It should be pretty easy to tell when it's cooked through as the meat's so thin. The colour changes to opaque when cooked rather than the translucent raw colour.

Depends entirely on the bacon. 'Streaky' I like it be crispy, yet 'Back' I like it just as the fat starts to crisp up but the flesh is still soft.

I can't believe that you had bacon not cooked properly, only takes a couple of minutes to cook ( if that).

Please stop it with this thread. I am not allowed bacon and it is killing me reading about it. As far as I am aware it is cooked when you can't stand waiting any longer and want to shove it down your gullet.

Yeh it was crispy on the outside and the meaty part was kind of light pink and it was all soft. i think its because im usually used to having it burnt to a crisp because thats how i like it

I generally find it's ready about 5 minutes after the bacon alarm on my hall ceiling has started beeping maniacally.
