I'm normally a lurker on Digital Spy and don't post very often but have just read this thread entirely and just had to post! I am a HUGE housewives fan and have watched every single episode for every single franchise.....even Miami, DC and Atlanta!

NY is definitely my favourite although I will be sad to watch it without Jill and Alex & Simon but the NJ one at the moment is just unbelievable at the moment with all the Teresa / Manzo fighting that is going on. Teresa is a piece of work, no?

With the suicide of Russell Armstrong it really shows how even though these are "reality" shows and supposed to be mindless entertainment, they still impact people and I get that they are paid well for appearing in the shows but the fights and the drama eventually break up families and friendships and that's sad. I often wonder if Andy Cohen feels any responsibility for creating the drama but then letting them all go at it without having to deal with the fall out.

Also I follow nearly all of the housewives on Twitter and I read a lot of the American blogs and articles written about it and have had a few messages back on twitter from Simon who loves to interact with fans and also got a message back from Jacqueline once!

I watch them all in real time a day or so after they're aired in USA (not going to say where I get them from!). I think the new Atlanta starts 6th November and that's probably going to be mostly focused on Kim & Kroy and the new baby / new house / wedding and I think NeNe has been opening restaurants in airports(?). Oh and I think I saw an advert that Bethenny Getting Married is being aired in the UK, can't remember which channel Style or Diva maybe?

Also I love Giuliana & Bill (poor G :cry), Big Rich Texas, Sister Wives, Most Eligible Dallas and anything else I can get my hands on!!

Anyway I love them all, it's my guilty pleasure and I will keep an eye on this thread for updates!
Hello montescalion, are there 48 hours a day in your part of Scotland, how do you find the time for all those shows

Well I've been watching since they started, what 5 years ago, and as I watch them pretty much as they air in the US I watch 1-2 episodes per week maximum, some months there are none on, so no 48 hour days required! You only need 40 minutes twice a week. I don't think there have ever been more than 2 franchises running concurrently.

Oh and I don't watch Corrie, Eastenders, Emmerdale or any other UK soaps etc!!

Thanks. I can now spend the rest of the day learnng how to cook the Sonja way. Except mine would have to be a microwave oven. Thanks wiki for enlightening me on what a toaster oven is. I still have to ask....WHY?

Are we related? Because I do exactly the same! I am retired and have to spend a fair bit of time on bedrest due to a stupid medical condition, but yup. I watch them all. ( Mind I only lasted 1 Episode of Most Eligible Dallas, I hated it) but, generally, if it's on Bravo I watch it.

Giuliana and Bill is great, except what a raw deal G is having. Despite being rich, their relationship is so real and I love the dynamics between them. There's a whole lot of the right kind of love there. I hate when American forums knock them, haven't we got enough disfunctional marriages already?

Big Rich Texas I know it's scripted, but does Pam like her edit? I would be mortified as coming across as such a vile, snobby, social climber and the biggest biatch ever. I love Bonnie, for a very clever gal she's got a kooky personality. Pity her daughter hasn't. I thought the finale of Season 1 was such a let down, I wanted Leslie to be some sort of multi millionaire. Not because I like her, but so she could stuff it to Pam and her cronies.
Still the Season 2 premiere starts in the New Year, so more answers please.

Sister Wives is interesting, but I cant see it having a long shelf life since they moved to Las Vegas

Sorry for the long post, but I love talking about these shows with people from the UK. Normally I have to go on US forums! ( After one long period of bed rest I even got hooked on 16 & Pregnant and both Teen Moms. Somehow I dont think a pensioner is MTV's target audience, but I really enjoyed them in a car crash way. I like observing people's behaviour.

I also love Million Dollar Listing and Million Dollar Decorators, Rachel Zoe, Top Chef and Project Runway. I think it's fair to say I watch a heck of a lot more US shows than British ones. I want something that doesn't engage my brain and is easy to watch. I think that lot fulfill the brief. Like you I dont watch soaps.

I cant lump Survivor in with that lot though. It's by far and away my favourite Reality Show ever and I have all 22 seasons, with 23 airing now,and all watched more than once. But that is class compared to the others and the Daddy of all Reality Shows.

Once again, sorry for rambling on.

Enjoy!

I've just dug out my Martha Stewart's Apprentice DVD as the Bio reminded me of it. I haven't watched it in years and had forgotten Bethehhy was on it.

Hello Montescalion, I have to echo tallys comments above cos I think we must be related aswell haha Im a huge fan of all the housewives shows, & most of the other Bravo shows aswell. I have yet to get into Big Rich Texas though, so I need to give it a try, Ive heard good things. I also hear good things about Most Eligible Dallas, but like tally, it didnt grab me at first, thinking of giving it another go though.

I know Andy Cohen has said they arent developing any new housewives franchises for the moment, but I always thought Dallas would be a natural fit for a housewives type show!

I recently caught up with the last few eps of the Miami housewives on Bio though, had no idea it was being shown & found it by chance a few weeks ago! Its not that bad though, not brilliant, but watchable. What the hell is with that Elsa woman though?! OMG, Shes terrifying! If I remember right, shes one of the main womens mother? Shes supposedly some kind of psychic witch or whatever. Scary is not even the word! I believe its the reunion on Bio tomorrow night so ill deffo watch. I hear they are making big changes for season 2 though, & I get why, Ive only seen a few episodes but they tend to revolve around dinner party/cooking lessons.

I found it really hard to like the Miami women. It's probably the least favourite franchise of mine (I'm yet to see DC & Atlanta, but I'm holding out, hoping that Atlanta will air on ITV2 after New York).

I'm not really sure why I didn't like it as much, I think it's because like SassyGirl said. It focused too much on cooking parties and generally didn't contain much drama at all.

Just what the hell has happened to Sonja?! Her ego is HUGE now. It's funny how she mentions the pecking order about Ramona being the leader because Ramona is one of the housewives staying on for season 5.

So, I watched the Miami reunion tonight, was a bit mad, it was filmed as live for Andy Cohens Watch What Happens Live show, so it was quite different for a housewives reunion. They really just seemed to let loose though, esp one of them (Adrianna?) I think, im assuming it was done for WWHL as the season got cut short so they didnt have the time (or inclination) maybe to do a proper reunion. I know its got a season 2 though, bit surprised at that, but Ill deff watch it just to see what changes they make.

have to agree paul, I only watched a few eps but its certainly my least fave right now, too much dinner party stuff & not enough drama, also, cant say theres any of them I particularly like as such. Though as I say, the reunion added a little bit more drama so that was good!

I hope ITV2 do show Atlanta though after they finish NY, it takes a while to grow on you, but I like it, its not my fave, but certainly entertaining (NeNe and Kim are a bit though!) Looking forward to the new season starting next week US pace.

Ooh & on the subject of NY, yeah Sonja really does get a bit in season 4, her "pecking order" comment still gets me to this day haha Interesting that she, Ramona and LuAnn have survived the cast cull on the NY show.

haven't had time to read through this whole thread so you'll have to forgive me if it's already been discussed...

RHONJ - by far the best franchise in my opinion, i'm obsessed with it. why did C4 stop showing it? (although i still watch it online, just finished watching season 3 and they are in the middle of filming season 4 now) because C4 used to show it, does that mean itv2 cannot show it after new york? i'm dying to be able to discuss it with someone, nobody i know has heard of it! they only watch orange county and new york because of itv2.

edit - just caught a couple of posts in the thread on RHONJ - i don't know what to think. teresa used to be lovely, surely she can't have changed that much from season 2 to 3? i think she's been a bit unfairly treated and i actually like her. don't get me wrong, all that parading in a bikini infront of her friend's husbands in punta cana and the back handed bitchy comments about other cast members has made me see her in a different (negative) light, but i still think she's been edited to look like a crazier bitch than she actually is?

melissa - again, don't know what to think now. hated her in the first few episodes, but she's grown on me a bit. i do think she controls joe gorga (whom i adore by the way ) and i don't buy her little miss innocent act.... there's a reason that the giudices don't like her and i don't believe it's jealousy. her sisters need to do one! do not like those two.

jacqueline is my favourite, she's fabulous. i was gutted she wasn't at the reunion.

i guess i'm on the fence with them all really (bar jacqueline) will make my mind up after season 4

There's quite a few of us who are fans of NJ. I was gripped by Series 3 and have to say it's far better than when Danielle was on with her threats.

I cant stand Tre although I felt sorry for her when Melissa and Kathy joined. I'm still torn about those two, they came across well in The Reunion, but edit is everything. Theresa was so obnoxious, but everyone ganged up on her. I think she's basically thick as a plank and the fame has gone to her head while Melissa wanted to kick start a singing career, Kathy a baking one.

I loathe Joe Go, jumped up little oversexed jerk. I got embarrassed and annoyed at his constant sexual harassment of Melissa. She's got 3 small kids and he doesn't get it every day? Awwww, shame. Mind, cant stand Jo Gi either. I always get a mob vibe from him.

But New Jersey is definitely one of my favourite franchises.

Re Atlanta, I've watched every episode, but I just cant get that enthused. I did enjoy Series 1, but not subsequent ones. I think the only one I wont bother with is S2 of Miami. That was as boring as hell.

In season four of Real housewives of NY Sonja's really changed. Fame can't have gone to her head after only one season. She's as bad as Luann. Talking to Cindy about heirarchy and pecking orders, saying that without Ramona she was practically a no-one and that Pinot Grigio should be a must for Ramona. She's too good for Quogue and is scared about going to Morocco [even though she knows nothing about it. Cindy seems nice, but Alex has became a little arrogant especially when talking about her modelling career and how it was meant to happen. Jill hasn't changed and neither has Luann. Kelly.....is just Kelly.

In Morocco today, great. So is Ramona pregnant or is it just the menopause ? Is her husband going to leave her - I wouldn't be shocked at that to be honest he looks a bit dodgy to me.

If anyone is interested the Riad they were staying at it is £14000 a week plus £2000 deposit, I bet they didn't get that back after that lot had stayed there.

Oh yes I have found out (old news in America) that Sonja has filed for bankruptcy and that she is fighting to keep the house and she is hoping that her oven bake grill thing is going to take off I wonder where that would place her on the pecking order list

Slightly above Luann singing, I think. That's truly horrific. ( You're in for a treat in a few episodes when she does her new music video.)

Luann didn't shell out for Morocco, Bravo did, though she's acting like head girl who's every utterence must be obeyed, stuck up cow. I really do despise her, as you can tell.

I won't look at the spolier Tally I am trying to be good - is it about tomorrow or well into the future?

I am finding that I change my dislike of each housewife on a daily basis. Just when you think that they may be ok they revert back to being the bitches that they all truly are. I am waiting for Kelly to go off the rails as she has had several days in a row now where she is sorta being quite humbling and normal. shock horror.

It's tomorrow. I'm out, so cant watch, but it was the highlight for me apart from the psychic.(That's todays episode)

I generally like people in real life, Bravo do a wonderful job of finding so many people to utterly loathe, dont they?

If anyone's interested, "Bethenny Getting Married" starts on E! on Monday 14th November at 9pm. I didn't rate it, (Bethenny needs a feud going on to bring out the drama) but just thought I'd mention it.

Did ayone else notice when LuAnne was on her hysterical camel when she decided to get off one of the young lads who helped her tried to cop a feel of her boob

Alex what on earth was she wearing for the camel ride??? Why did she need to have a shirt and tie on !!

Cindy is a strange one. What is her problem with Sonya? So what if LuAnne had said to Sonya mind my seat why did Cindy take offence at that??

Jill and Ramona well what can I say. Jill still cant get over when she went to St Johns island and Ramona didnt greet her with open arms. There is no way Bethanny would have made freinds with her not after the last time they tried and LuAnne dragged Jill out of the apartment.

It definitely wasn't the time of the month for Sonja - more like too much champagne. Her crying about her broken marriage and the possibility that a woman might steal Romana's husband was alcohol induced. And she clearly didn't remember what she said to Cindy because she was drunk! At least Ramona can handle her Pinot Grigio!

Jill is desperately trying to make up for last season. She's blaming Ramona for not helping get back with Bethenny, but that's typical Jill, rewriting history to make herself the victim. She had her chance with Bethenny at Ramona's but she couldn't talk without her notes!

Not liking Cindy. I actually found the way she was hovering around Sonja in the market a bit disturbing. And the whole hanger thing was a bit weird. She seems quite insecure and doesn't fit in.

Disappointed Luann didn't fall off her camel!
