The Real Housewives of New York returns on Tuesday, March 11th at 9/8c on BRAVO. LuAnn is only returning part-time, Kristen Taekman is joining as a full-blown cast member.
AAAAAAHHHHHHH! Wish I could see this trailer! Can't wait to see this, excited! Heard all good things so far. As long as Ramona's there I'm happy! SO glad LuAnn's in it less too! Love the NY drama, it's always so deranged and unnecessary.

NY looks like its going to deliver this season! I am so ready to catch up with the NY ladies now.

Not at all fussed about LuAnn coming back part time. That suits me. Hope the newbie Kristen knows what she's getting into (mind you, she is friends with Brandi, so maybe she's taking tips from her )

WOW! Thanks so much for the link soapiej.
That looks That trailer makes the Mob Wives look like nuns. What's with all the F bombs? Heather calling Aviva Mofo, Ramona throwing a glass in the new girls face and Aviva's leg on the floor at the end. They have definitely brought the drama for Season 6. According to Andy there is so much going on in the season it is their longest one ever. Looks like it's going to be a crazy ride. Bring on March!

From the sounds of it Luann is only 'part time' because of the whole contract stand off. She's not in the first three episodes because she still hadn't signed her contract.

I read a good point that normally there is an RHOA repeat at 10pm on Sundays and normally both showings together get over 5 million viewers and there wasn't one this week so that probably why the ratings were inflated this week

It probably played a part but the ratings for RHOA have been really good and rising this season so its not a surprise that they rose again:

Episode 1 - 3.1 million
Episode 2 - 3.33 million
Episode 3 - 3.69 million
Episode 4 - 3.29 million
Episode 5 - 3.1 million
Episode 6 - 3.77 million
Episode 7 - 3.47 million
Episode 8 - 3.67 million
Episode 9 - 3.82 million
Episode 10 - 4.51 million

Yes the jump was greater than expected, I thought it would have been around 4 million, but the viewing figures on the whole show that RHOA is the most popular of the Real Housewives franchises.

NY, OC, Miami and DC have never had a single episode get more than 3 million viewers yet every episode of Season 6 has gone over that so far.

The ratings have always been good for RHOA, since it's 2nd season it's consistently the most watched of all the Real Houswives franchises:

http://bravoratings.com/housewives/

Before Sunday's episode, the season 3 finale with Peter & Cynthia's wedding was the most watched episode across all the Real Houswives franchises:

http://bravoratings.com/2013/03/31/h...union-episode/

The December 8th 2013 episode of RHOA was the most watched programme on Cable tv that night:

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...d-more/221224/

And of course it has given us 4 of the 8 Real Housewives spin-off shows.

I'm going to stop now because I think I'm coming across as a bit too much of an RHOA obsessive (I do love it more than anything else on tv ) but I just wanted to point out that it is generally the most successful franchise ratings wise.

So while it may have been boring this season, clearly boring is what works for the viewers

The 18-49 demo is the important part.

The season 3 final of RHOA (Cynthia's wedding) got a 2.4, and the latest episode of RHOA got a 2.1, so despite getting higher number of viewers, the episode didn't manage to reach a series high in the demo.

However, I'm almost certain that the huge fight this season will probably break records.

That reinforces one of my theories about this season's ratings... I'm sure Mama Joyce has got all her old lady friends watching to see how she handles her business

Is RHOC worth watching? I sort of want to start but 8 seasons is very long, and the first few seasons look quite awful (the way its edited and filmed, graphics for the intro and stuff etc).

I am not the biggest fan of the OC. To be honest if you're going to start watching it I would just go into Season 4 or 5 as nothing happens in the earlier seasons. Jeana was the only good thing about the show in the earlier days and it looks so dated which also doesn't help you get into it.

Yes. Oc is pretty good. Think of oc as the white atl.

The first few season of the rh franchise are boring. For oc just watch 7 and 8 and you caught up. For me oc,nj and atl remain the best ones.

Personally, I'd start with 5 or 6. It's upto you though because that is a lot of episodes.

Tamra is psychotic! What a nut job!
Good on Vicki for standing up to her for Alexis. Gretchen is VILE and getting worse as Season 8 goes on... I don't think Tamra and Gretchen realise they're making Alexis look good (never thought I'd like her, but I am now).

Good Season so far. Looking forward to Lauri's return - when does she come back?

Yes I agree with you on all points. Alexis is silly and a bit too inward looking at times, but as far as I can see there is nothing malicious about her. The gang of 3 really have it in for her and their behaviour does make Alexis look the nicer person.

Tamra is just nasty and makes horrible comments about everyone (even her friends), yet plays holier than thou and indignant if anyone does something she does not like. Failing that she turns on the fake tears. Ugh, in some ways her and Gretchen are suited and deserve each other, but I am hoping that her friendship with Gretchen falls apart as I want to see her have to make more effort with Vicki. Last season Tamra took delight in winding up Vicki when getting pally with Gretchen. Aside from Vicki's blind spot for Brookes, I like her brand of craziness and reality.

Slade and Gretchen need to go, the whole should we/shouldn't we marry is so Zzzzzz. Is it my telly or does Gretchen look more and more plastic with each episode. Can't stand her.

So pleased we finally have series 8 though.

I can easily breeze through shows I watched all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad in under 2months. Real Housewives ATL up to Season 5 in about a few weeks I torture myself i stay up all night watching them even though i have work

I think I will give the OC a go then from 5 and see how it goes

Anybody watching DC on ITV2? I am enjoying it and cannot believe Michele and her husband. I am enjoying the drama unfolding around them. I think Cat is dreadful. Normally I love the British Housewives (Lisa Vanderpump being one of my faves, I even quite like Carlton - even though she doesn't bring much to it) but Cat is awful. So fake.

Definitely a good idea as season 5 sees the exit of the beloved Jeana , Lynne's on camera eviction notice and her drunk daughters that fight all the time among many other things that I wont ruin for you!

Did anyone else see Kelly in the NY trailer? I didn't but her and others tweeted about it. Apparently she's in a few episodes.

The trailer is all over the place but I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be good to have the 2 original shows airing side by side. (OC & NY)

I'm shocked you were able to get through the 1st season of ATL then, I found it extremely boring.

Thanks for everyone's comments about OC! I will probably start watching from S4.

Why did ITV2 cut RHONJ half way through season 2? and there twitter said they have no news on when its back on. I don't get it, its so annoying.
