Gretchen just said in the will jeff left her 2.5mil but his estate was in defecit of over 3mil. So does this mean she got nothing to pay what was owed or did she just get less? Im confused over that whole issue.

I thought they would value his estate before he allocated money to ensure everyone got what was intended.

Just watched the latest NY episode. Ramona needs to go, she really is grating on me now. She's just completely rude, not even in a humorous way any more and there's never any reason for her to be rude. Luann is becoming rather stale as well, maybe because Jill & Kelly are no longer there so she has no one to bounce off of. Starting to like Sonja and absolutely love the new girls (Heather, Aviva & Carole), they really are great to watch and aren't all about arguing and sniping at each other every episode, all episode. Still want Jill Zarin back. No one can replace her, bobby & Ginger. lol.

Was wondering do you think Jill, kelly or Alex keep in touch with any of the other housewives?

Without knowing the details of Jeff's will and US probate law it is hard to say what's what. If US law is like Uk law then I imagine any legal debts such as money owed to the IRS would have been taken out first and the remainder distributed according to the will.

Right, just time to watch this weeks thrilling installments of NJ and NY. Olympic mania has taken over my life, so I have to squeeze them in as and when.

I'll be honest, the only reason I watch NY now is because of Ramona, the "Singer Stinger", so devowed of moral value its borderline entertaining and embarassing. Been rewatching Season 3 online and on ITV2 instead, the infamous "Scary Island" episodes.

Sorry to break it to you Tally but there was no new RHONJ this week. I think Bravo delayed it because of the Olympics which is annoying as I actually really liked last weeks episode with the trip to Napa. Did anyone else think the little animation of the trip was really cute? It reminded me of America's Next Top Model when they go abroad. Real Housewives of New Jersey has been kinda average this season. there have been some great episodes marred with terrible ones, but it looks like from here on the napa trip in it all descends into craziness ending with the posche fashion show so I'm looking forward to that

RHONY has been a slow burner this season, but I think it's finally starting to pick up a bit. I have grown to love Ramona and Luann as tv characters, it only takes a Cindy Barshop to really make you appreciate what you have there. As people they are horrible, but they do make good tv. Ramona is so annoying and controlling and Luann is so condescending and passive aggressive but she doesn't realise it which is so funny to watch

I really like Carol but she seems to be observing the show instead of taking part really. Aviva has an amazing body, but atm she doesn't really have anything interesting going on, apart from her leg which is starting to get a little old, but from the previews it looks like she is going to SNAP and go CRAZY and I can't wait! I love it when uptight (In the nicest way possible) women like Aviva and RHOC Heather are pushed and pushed and pushed and finally snap! Heather vs Sarah was so funny/ridiculous and Aviva Vs Ramona looks like it going to be great.

I think RHONY Heather is a bitch, but I still like her lol but it was never going to end well working with friends with Sonja and imo Sonja isn't a client since she is not paying. Saying that though I think the design that Heathers team came up with was boring but Sonja and Heathers team should of worked together. Bringing Ramona was also a shady move as Ramona is obviously going to dislike anything Heather suggests.

This. This is really old news, and has been said before..... The scary Island clips have been on and I think Kelly is [partly] sane. Ever since the "Madonna comment" Kelly thinks that Bethenny wants to destroy her. That's why she was so vile to her on the trip. Saying that she was a simple "cook" rather than a chef, saying no-one cared about her, mentioning Bethenny's dead father saying Bethenny was a media whore attacking her kids, that she was going to kill her in her sleep.

It's horrid that Kelly would say all these things to a pregnant woman who's just lost her father, but to Kelly it makes sense, because she thinks everything Bethenny says is abuse.
I think that Kelly was really threatened by Bethenny's success at the time along with her new family and engagement annoucement.

She thinks Bethenny a "knife tongued" bully so Bethenny doesn't deserve the attention. Kelly was fighting a battle that existed in her head. Her hatred for Bethenny was probably the only sane thing about her. She knew that she had to lie to Jill and Luann when she came back and she thought babbling about Bethenny being mean would convince them.

When Jill found out Bethenny and Alex were going on the trip she was never going to go, but ending up being caught in her lies to get out of Ramona's vacation by showing up on the last day. The irony is, if she'd been ready to put Ramona first and help her celebrate her "renewal" she would have been a witness to "Krazy Kelly's breakthrough"

Jill held that grudge against Bethenny for so long and had Luann on her side, it became fun for Jill watching Bethenny grovel until she met Jason and chasing Jill to stroke her ego slid to the bottom of her list. I think Jill also sensed that viewers weren't impressed either so it was hard to tell if Jill really wanted Bethenny's friendship back for the right reasons. Jill was cringeworthy, but great and it would be great if she came back.

I got caught up in tennis so still haven't watched NY. I'm hoping to give it a go today. I broke my foot 5 weeks ago so have been confined to barracks and the perfect excuse to watch wall to wall trash, plus the marvellous Olympics.

Hopefully the plaster comes off next Tuesday but I might have to actually DO something around the house.

I feel very rude sometimes when I do a hit and run posting of DM links but sometimes it's a sneaky one from work so I don't hang around! I feel, given that I never contribute much in other ways - mainly because I can't even remember the last time I watched any RH shows - the very least I can do is lob the odd DM grenade in periodically!!!!!!!

I am watching Bethenny Ever After because I can Sky+ it but seem to be incapable of dragging my lazy bum into seeking/viewing RH shows elsewhere which is bizarre given how much I enjoy them. I have the BH reunion shows on Sky+ but have put off watching them - partly so I don't run out and partly because it sounded a bit heavy on Lisa and I need to brace myself to watch it. I sound completely balanced and normal don't I lol, ideal for a Nurse!

Tally, hope your ankle heals well but maybe slip the plaster back on for excuses to watch RH shows in the future

Ho ho ho. Finally a decent episode of NY, not too OTT, but pretty satisfying.

It's Sonya's turn in the spotlight trying to "find" her branding and being in a tearing hurry because her toaster oven is in imminent danger of going into production! I hope the NY Firefighters are on standby and they all have decent fire alarms because with Ramona permanently sloshed someone's going to set the place alight!

Sonia is NOT pleased with Heather's work on her logo and, taking dipstick Ramona with her to wield the wooden spoon they more or less call Heather and her business partners liars, suggest something that Ramona thinks is right ( given the rich, successful businesswoman she is ) Words fail me, they really do,
Naturally this doesn't sit well with Heather who wonders why the hell Ramona has turned up for Sonia's business meeting with her company. Further knives are turned when Sonia says that she's unhappy as a client that Heather isn't taking her launch or concerns seriously enough.
(As Heather points out, clients PAY, Sonia is getting all this time free and gratis. )

I'm liking Heather this week. Anyone who can put Ramona in her place is fine with me.

At another meeting for Ramona's Rotgut, R decides to not take 'Sonia but the Countless. ROTFL. She's worse than Ramona at Sonia's meeting with her air of disdain and fake posh accent.

We leave it all air kisses and pally all the while the lot of them are plotting how soon they can ram a knife into each other's back.

Mario is turning into the new Simon and I'm liking him less and less. He and R are having dinner with Jacques and Lu when he starts laying into Jacques trying to make a fool out of his wife with their "wine tasting". So what does our intrepid full of graceful elegance snob do but shoot to the loo with Ramona to leave the men arguing. What a piece of trash she is.Spineless as well as clueless.

Another ruccus when having an outing with Carole where Carole tries to tell Lu how embarrassed she was when Lu was begging clothes ( Lu managed to turn that one around as the designer should be grateful to HER by showcasing his garments for him). Like Michelle Obama isn't prestigious enough.

Then she further cements her grace and elegance when she keeps referring to Native Indians rather than the now politically correct term Native Americans. She brushes off Carole's concerns and upset by doing a stupid parody of a war cry circa John Wayne in one of his gung ho Westerns.

Yup, our Countess wasn't even in the queue when they handed out manners. Trash, pure trash.

I've missed loads out ( mainly Lu and Ramona discussing the need to hang on to Jacques by having his baby...R is suitably appalled despite her own brush with pregnancy last Season....these two are so stupid I collapse laughing) but you really have to see the party Lu holds complete with an updated Sex Pistols type of band who scream obscenities instead of nice Christmas Carols. Another ROTFL moment. I cant write what they sang as not only would DS change it to a bunch of asterisks they'd probably give me a lifetime ban.

But shocker of shockers, it's OK with Lulu, because it's sort of fun and out of the box. Hum, OK then, Whatever. I think the "ladies" had run for the exit doors by this time.

I'm sure Sassy and kimkam can put a lot more detail in than me, my memory's getting shocking, but I highly recommend this particular episode. It's the funniest one so far IMO.

I think you about covered it tally- I do agree though. It was a fun ep of the NY ladies. Like you say, not all OTT drama, but just enough pettiness and bitching to make me remember what it is I liked about NY in the first place!

I need to mention Ramona at that meeting with Sonja and Heather- why the hell was she there?! I cant get over how unrelentingly rude the woman is. Was it Sonja or Ramonas product cos my God if she didnt shoot down everything that Heather and her team came up with. It was mortifying, no wonder Heather and the guy from the ad agency looked so horrified. Thats not how you do business. But OMG at Ramonas next pearl of wisdom, she thinks Heather has a problem with her because "she must be intimidated as Im an independant, successful businesswoman" Yes, she actually said that. And meant it. Im speechless!

Onto the classless Countess and her comments about Indians v Native Americans, Carole was mortified, and then just to make it worse and cement the tacky tiara on her head, Lu launches into some sort of indian squawk!! This is before she makes a runner for the bathroom when Mario launches an attack on Jac for the stunt at the wine tasting- what has happened to Mario? he used to be the sane to Ramonas crazy, now hes kind of a bitch and eggs her on. Also at this classy dinner, Aviva mentions that she and the famous Harry got married at the restaurant. Of course this causes Ramona to flip out and insist that nobody talk about him, it makes her "uncomfortable" If you ask me shes just jealous. Both Lu and Sonja have slept with Harry and Ramona just hates to be left out! I did laugh when Reid said hands up who at the table has slept with Harry, cut to a camera shot of Lu taking a hefty swig of wine!

Talking of, we do meet the famous/infamous Harry, he who likes to create housewife notches on his bedpost! I was hoping for some handsome, George Clooney esque older man but alas we get a guy who is kinda short and to me, looks like the kind of guy who was running around NY in the 80s having a fab old time, unfortunately now its 2012 and hes the other side of 50 and its all just a bit sad. But at least he has the memories of a bubble bath with Sonja to keep him happy!

Clearly one for punishment, Heather agrees to yet another business meeting with Sonja, this time though we trade Ramona for Lu. Frankly I dont know which is worse! Sonja sits there & cant believe her ears that Heather is basically trying to dump her, of course this being Sonja she wears Heather down in the end and gets her own way. I did laugh at Sonja saying she doesnt feel like she has been treated very well by Heather as a client, for Heather to be like "No, no, Clients pay. Your getting this for free!" Fab!!
Thing is, I do like Sonja, shes fun and shes a bit out there and I think shes a bit shellshocked that she went from having a rather grand lifestyle to, not! Shes so much better when shes on her own away from Ramona.

at Lu and Sonjas lunch to discuss Luann having a baby with Jac. Really, Lu?! I think theres more chance of menopause than there is of a baby, no offence! I think Sonja summed it up pretty well "Itll either be incredibly chic, or woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown!" too true!

Saving the best for last, Lu has a christmas party, complete with a "unique" inerpretation of Jingle Bells. But first we have to have the standard Ramona argument, Lu takes the opportunity to pull Ramona aside and tell her that the stunt at the wine tasting was really just a joke- but surely R knows that?! Ramona says she was willing to let it go as shes trying to get along with her, but everyone else was stirring her up about it, anyways R decides this is a new Ramona and its in the past, however she reminds Lu that the old Ramona would have flung the glass of wine in Luanns face! Not sure I believe that, water maybe, but Ramona could never waste a glass of wine like that, wine is for drinking!

But Ooh the band, I laughed so much! Lu gathers the ladies together to get festive and sing a rendition of Jingle Bells, all is going (tunelessly) well until the band start screaming what they would like to do, and which area they would like to do it to! Im not going to repeat it, as tally says, you would get banned, but it was so funny! Luann of course declares that its fine "Ooh its so funny, and a bit out there" I bet she was seething inside though! As Sonja points out "I bet she didnt get that from her etiquette book"
