I'm trying to copy a recording from my Foxsat HDR to an external hdd. The Foxsat recognizes the hdd so it is formatted ok, an I can see the pictures I already have on the drive.

When I go to media and bring up the options the copy option is not highlighted . Tried the other recordings but all the same, I just don't get the option to copy..

Are the recordings copy protected ? Or am I doing something wrong ?

After USB drive recognised

Media Opt+ choose File Manager

Cursor right to USB Icon and click OK to open (repeat if you want to copy to a subfolder)

Cursor left to and to a file, copy button should now be active

But as FAT32 only lets you copy up tp 4gig I am formatting the drive to ext4 on a linux pc. But have I made a mistake, will the Hummy see ext4 does it have to be ext3?

Now, how do I view the copied file/s on the PC.?

Assuming the file didn't have the "Enc" flag beside it in the media list (in which case you can't play it other than on the HDR), then use VLC Media Player (free) to play the .TS file on a PC.

Used Winff to covert and Windows live movie player to trim.
Could do with a better free bit of kit to edit though.

What it is, is last night there was a program on S4C about a bit of local character who tried to get his horse on a train and into local bars, hospital and so on.
I want to post it on Youtube or Facebook so my mate who now lives in the US can see it. Could be a bit long though. What's best format for Youtube/Facebook.

EXT3 afaik, Easeus partition manager will format EXT3 for you.
