Which is the best 3D/Smart TV around today?

Recently I haven't really kept up with newcomers in the TV world and was looking at getting a new Full LED TV, maybe with 3D capabillities capabilities but almost certainly with SMART TV function.
Was thinking a Panny would be good and after I have been a faithful Samsung supporter of late, the newer models I have seen really haven't had me thinking I must have one so I may change manufacturer.
Was looking to get a 42-46 inch one if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great

I have an LG 42" passive 3D tv which is very good. The Smart tv facility is pretty underwhelming and I don't use it at all. Typing web addresses with a remote or an onscreen keyboard isn't my idea of a good time.
Great 3D though and it came with a free Blu-Ray player.

Confusingly LED sets are actually LCD screens with LED backlighting.

When you say 'full LED' do you mean a fully LED backlit LCD.

Most sets referred to as LED are edge-lit LCDs, the fully backlit ones tend to be expensive top of the range sets.

Like this one

They are much better than the edge-lit sets though.

Edit - An idea of your budget would help.

About 2 grand i was thinkin. If full dynamic LED's are so expensive I think I may just got for a top line panny plasma. Only thing putting me off is the weight of them up on the chimney stack. And the amount of drilling needed to make it stay where it is. It's quite a an old house you see.

Not sure about the 3D side of things but the 3D TV/Smart function thread has a discussion regarding SMART functions of a TV vs using a PC for smart function.
