Stopped writing off for autographs in about 2011, so had a bit of surprise when one turned up from Ryan Thomas yesterday!

Hey Ben, How many new cards did you get? Could not see anything on Ebay.
There are already 6 more new cast cards that I haven't gotten yet and I was waiting for a few more new ones. However, as none of these people are currently leaving, I wonder if it would be wise to wait for Sally Ann Matthews and Tina O'Brien.

I am not even sure about which upcoming actors will be getting cast cards and who will not.

Probably been answered a few times but there are lots of replies to get through!
Just been showing my brother my autograph book and, being a massive eastenders and coronation street, he was very impressed. I have decided that for Christmas I'm going to write to as many people as possible from corrie and eastenders to make him an autograph collection of his own. I haven't written in a while and didn't get many back myself so I guess I'm just wondering who are the most reliable repliers from these two soaps? Also, I've completely forgotten the etiquette of what to actually write! Like I said it's been a while!

Help please!

I received a signed and dedicated Eastenders cast card back from Jo Joyner (Tanya, second card) on Saturday.

Very happy with this as I didn't get a reply when she was a regular on the show, so sent a blank card to her agency which she signed and returned. Took just over six months.

I've sent a handful of blank cards off to actors agencies to see if I can fill some gaps in my collection and Jo is the first to have replied. I've also sent to Jazmyn Banks, Kate Magowan and Hetti Bywater (I emailed her agency first and they seemed quite helpful but nothing back yet), so will update if I hear anything back.

It's quite difficult to give a definitive answer to this, because everyone seems to have a different experience, and there are very few actors these days who are guaranteed to reply. In my experience, the following are quite good at replying, and will usually dedicate:

EastEnders: Harry Reid, Davood Ghadami, Laila Morse, June Brown, Rudolph Walker, Lisa Hammond, Maddy Hill, Timothy West, Danny-Boy Hatchard, Linda Henry, Annette Badland, Luisa Bradshaw-White

Coronation Street: Helen Worth, Barbara Knox, Sue Nicholls, David Neilson, Andy Whyment, Patti Clare

As for what to write, just say you're a fan of Corrie/EE, what you like about their character, and explain that you're collecting autographs for your brother. Make sure you make it clear who you want the card to be dedicated to.

Hope that's of some help to you.

Thanks! I'll try all of these! I'm writing to Michael Gambon and apparently he takes about a month to reply which is quicker than most soap stars! I suppose it's because he's a wizard
