Just got more mail from Manchester, two days in a row now. This autographed card was from the lovely Corrie doctor Oliver Mellor. I wrote to him in August.

Nice to see some of the Corrie cast catching up on fanmail. Jack P Shepherd was signing cards today in the green room as Ryan Thomas posted a photo....if anyone has wrote to him recently.

I wrote to Jack just over a year ago. Haven't had a reply yet, so hopefully he's just been busy and mine's amongst the ones he was replying to today.

I don't really write anything out of the ordinary - just a polite letter about 2 or 3 paragraphs long, mentioning a few things I've enjoyed about the actor and their character. I definitely don't always get replies though - I had a count up over the weekend and I have over 300 letters from the last 2 years that haven't been replied to.
Blimey, that must be really disheartening? I'm guessing from your posts in here you get more replies because you write to more people.

I got a signed and dedicated Victoria Atkin (Jason Costello, Hollyoaks) castcard with a really lovely message on Wednesday (wrote to her sometime last year), and yesterday a signed and dedicated Chucky Venn (Ray Dixon, Eastenders) castcard (took around three weeks).

I try not to think about it.

But yeah, I do write to a hell of a lot of people, so I expect that, proportionally, I get no more responses than anyone else.

This morning I had a Hollyoaks card from David Kennedy (Dirk Savage) - dedicated, took about 6 weeks.

Hello all!
Thinking of writing to some of the EE cast for some Castcards.
Anyone give me a rough guide on who's likely to reply, and how long they usually take (and those whom I shouldn't bother with?)
Also, do they write back or just send back a signed card?

Thank you!

I know that when Alex first started to reply to fanmail back in 2009 people had reason to believe that the autographs weren't his. When various cards were compared, they were obviously signed by different hands so it's possible you could either have fakes or more likely one of the secretarial ones. I don't think my reply from Alex is signed by him as the writing's too neat for a child of his age ( I got it in 2009 when he would still have only been about 6 or 7).

I think it's a similar situation with Maisie Smith (Tiffany) replies. Someone on another forum said people at her stage school/agency sign them for her as all the autographs on the cards are different and the writing is again much too neat for a child of her age.

When Devon Higgs (Morgan) first joined EastEnders the cards were obviously not being signed by him as he was only 3 at the time and the writing on the cards was very small and neat. When I wrote to him in late 2009 I recieved a reply about a month later signed in child-like handwriting so it seems that Devon now signs his own.

I wonder why Maisie doesn't sign her own cards. She's 10 now and other children in the cast have and do sign their own cards.

There's some info here http://www.cyshp.co.uk/eef/eekids.html

U write a fan letter to the star.

U say ur name and why u like them and ur fav storyline and ask questions then u say "i know u r busy but please may i have a signed castcard dedicated to (ur name).

If u Write a good letter the stars might reply with a letter too.

Cathy Murphy-Julie Perkins-Letter
Tanya Franks-rainie cross-letter
Polly Perkins-rose cotton-letter
Jacqueline Jossa-lauren branning-note wwarning people about fakes on twitter
June Brown-dot cotton-Photo of her and ethel as i praised the storyline it is from
