Nina Wadia (Zanab EE) signed my 8x10 after 3 1/2 years! One of my all-time longest waits for a response. Just goes to show ... never give up hope ...

I'm off to stalk Anita Dobson at my local theatre tonight. I've met her a couple of times before and she's lovely.
wow! nice success! i wrote to her back in 2010 (Nina) i had given up completely on getting that one.. things are looking more hopeful now

I have spotted a couple of people have got Nina back lately. A shame she didn't add her latest castcard to the envelope, as recompense for the 3 1/2 yr wait ...

To my local theatre last night: Anita Dobson and Greta Scacchi both lovely. Anita signed 2, Greta signed 4.

I presume this isn't a Corrie card?

Hi,

Sometime this Summer i am Planning to go to elstree and wait outside for the EE stars.

Any advice?

Also what do you guys take to get signed? do you take unisgned castcards, a poster or a Book or something general?

Whats the best time to go (day and time)?

And who am i most likely to see and who will stop and sign something/Pose for a picture?

I received Mandip Gill yesterday (Phoebe Jackson, Hollyoaks). She dedicated the cast card but didn't hand sign it, it just said 'To xx with love' (although she also sent a short letter which was handsigned).

Today I received a reply from the Hollyoaks help desk. No idea what letter this was in response to as they didn't use the SASE I would have sent (which makes me believe it was from a letter I sent late last year), but they did send me cast cards for Ashley Slanina-Davies (Amy, stunning photo), Jessica Forrest (Leanne, not the most flattering of pics), Rachel Shenton (Mitzeee) and Stephanie Davis (Sinead, card is slightly smaller than the other three). Hopefully this means they will now send out more than one at a time.

Nope, just one of her publicity cards.

I've just double checked and my reply from Mandip Gill was the same.

I might try the Hollyoaks helpdesk again and see if I can get any more cards. My last reply from them was at the beginning of the year and they were still sending out one card at a time.

I have never been collecting at a soap studio, but I regularly do stagedoors, and often do events where I don;'t know who will turn up.

My advice from the "don't know who'll be there" route of collecting is to keep it simple. Don't take hundreds of different photos, etc, because you may only have a split second to get someone's autograph and may not have the right item to hand if you have too much.

Take an autograph book or an EE book or an EE poster, rather than loads of photos of various people, then you won't get so flustered if everything becomes a rush.

Imagine that ten EE people all come out of the door at the same time. You know you have stuff for every single one of them in your bag, but you don't have time to go through it all. You end up getting just two out of the ten because you were faffing so much, and you dropped some of your stuff in a puddle because there was a huge rush to get stuff done after two hours of standing in the drizzle. Then someone else comes out and you remember that you've got a photo of that person but you left it at home on the kitchen table.

Do yourself a favour: the less stuff you take, the easier it will be.

(This is from plenty of experience of stagedoor collecting).

Let us know how it goes!!

you wont get more than 3 or 4 people coming out at elstree at once so its usually okay to get your stuff out. if theres loads of people then its easy and if its just you then they would wait

I sent out two letters to the Hollyoaks Helpdesk that have yet to be replied to. One from December and one from March so hopefully I'll get some replies to them too.

One for me today. A signed and dedicated Corrie Card from Georgia May Foote (Katy).

Had a reply this morning to a letter I sent to the Casualty studios almost two years ago! They sent me a signed card of Steve Miller (Lenny) and a note apologising for the delay, explaining that they'd moved studios and were catching up on mail, and saying that they were only able to send out one actor card at a time these days.

I wrote to him in July 2007 and got a reply in about 2 months. I wrote to him again last July to get his updated card but have yet to hear back.

3 1/2 year wait Christ. I think I will just skip her then, she's clearly too busy (and that's not meant to be some bitchy criticism, for the record).
