I got a nice personal letter signed from James Thornton (Emmerdale's John Barton) this morning. I had sent a letter to him via 'Emmerdale' on the 3rd May 2012. So we know they pass the letters on.
Anyway amongst other things he apologized for taking so long to reply (he wasn't long in my book) and he said he didn't get a new cast card. Emmerdale had indicated this to me too a few weeks back. Apparently he only ever had the one cast card which I already have.

I've underlined Andy. I have not seen him but was told a few weeks ago he has a new card.
Those in bold are apparently not getting the new cards. This was indicated to me a few weeks ago when I asked and they just sent me old Noah (suggesting that's all they had left of the children) and they crossed out all the other children on my list. A friend has since told me that they had heard the younger children were no longer going to have cards. I wondered if this was a legal thing and the other soaps will follow suit, or whether it is to save money?
Jacob has had 3 cards in the last 9 months and Belle has got a new card so it is rather odd that Gabby isn't getting a new one as she must be older than Joe Warren-Plant (who plays Jacob)
Last week was Emmerdale's Aberdeen Weekend and most of the cards went public to those who were lucky enough to attend. However, people had to pay £2 per autograph and you had to queue up for your favourite stars and hope that they weren't replaced by another cast member by the time you got to the front of the queue. I personally didn't go.
I'm quite surprised that Ebay isn't being inundated with cast cards from the Weekend. It normally is, It seems it was harder to get the cards this year and instead of a donation, they put a set fee on each autograph.
It has been suggested to me that just 2 more cards, they, are waiting on and then they are going to release them to the rest of us mere mortals. I'm getting concerned about Hannah and Holly as they have now left, so I might write again soon if I haven't had anything by the end of June for these 2. They are sending out specific requests but not the sets until they are all ready.
