Essentially two questions in one...

Will he be missed by the street characters eg, his on screen family, the Platts, the neighbours, his friends?

and

Will he be missed by the viewers?

I don't think he'll be missed. The characters never really miss anyone for long.........pretty much the same as the viewers.

He will be missed, unless he keeps stepping out in the busy roads

He won't be missed by the Platts.

He'll be missed by Eileen, and perhaps Dev/Sunita cos they've always had a bit of a soft spot for him. Not sure about Jason cos obviously Todd leaves on really bad terms with him. He'll be missed by an off screen Karl, obviously, unless some miracle happens and Todd leaves to be with him.

Todd/Bruno has built up a huge fanbase and so I think he will most certainly be missed by them.

I think many general viewers have a bit of a soft spot for him (like my grandma, bless her) and so I think he'll be missed by them.

But many viewers also couldn't care less about him, so he won't be missed by them.

So, a bit of a mix, really!

He hasn't been in it much recently, so I think we've more or less got used to him not being there. So no, he won't be missed by the viewers except his avid fans.

It might have been better for him to have left as soon as the gay storyline had finished.....but I think the writter Daran Little wanted to cover a few more gay related stories while he could. Shame I think Todd would have made a good gay person on the street....better than camp Sean anyhow.

I feel like Bruno wasnt happy about the gay storyline from the word go. He probably put up with it because he didnt gain popularity before the storyline, so after the kiss etc he was widley recognised and got out as soon as he could, nowing that he may be able to make something out of his career now that he is known for "corries first gay/ first gay kiss etc". Personally Bruno will not be missed be the viewers of the characters, good riddance I say, and Bruno...SHAVE!!

Actors who play uncommon storylines almost always end up shooting to fame.....Bruno and the writter Daran Little always say that they knew what has going to happen years ago, if he was really unhappy he could have said no and left then. Its possible that he did indeed put up with it....but at the same time its every actors dream to play something different, especially if it is the opposite to what the actor is like (assuming bruno is hetro of course ).

I agree about the shaving it doesnt grow in certain places and just looks werid...other times he seems to have shaved during scenes, his side burns take different angles throughout the day.....

I have a thing for his stubble He's shaved it off now though

I also don't think that's true that he wasn't happy about the gay storyline. From what he's said in interviews, he's sounded very happy and proud of the storyline. He also comes across as being very open minded and "gay friendly" (he's appearing at the gay pride weekend in Manchester this weekend, for example) and so I don't think that doing a gay storyline would have been a problem for him.

I don't think Todd made much of an impression on most of the residents.. His presence was never even truly recognised until he turned out to be gay. I think Eileen and Jason will be the only two who'll miss him. Dev and Sunita won't give his departure much though IMO, it's not like he was especially friendly with them, they were just acquaintances.. Todd was only ever an employee to Dev really. No major bond.

As for the viewers; well except for that one big storyline, that many loved, others tolerated.. he really wasn't a very valuable character. He was bland, and had a drippy personality. I for one won't mourn the loss of his gormless face, he wasn't a good comic character, and IMO he wasn't particularly likeable or useful as a thought-provoking character like Hayley is..

It was a HUGE storyline with MASSES of publicity and loads of people talking about it. I bet he nearly bit their hand off when they discussed it with him - it's every actor's dream to get a part like that.

Totally agree. He's an ACTOR for goodness sake - about 25% of the people he works with on a regular basis are probably gay.

I think that to high a % I think the gov sats were something like 1 in 8 people are gay. Still I dont think Bruno is homophobic if that is what people think. LOL or he wouldn't be doing that gay pride thing

Garbage, I dont no anyone who hated the storyline? All the papers, were pro TaK and made refrences to the "wonderful love" shared by the pair. Only bigots were unhappy with it. But to be honest they are living in the past and really should get over it.

Is that a joke? I dont get it? LOL, if its not then if you take 100 random people 13 of them would be gay, of course its only a sat, perhaps the number will go up if society becomes even more accepting. I don't no. Anyway Todd is one of the 1 in 8, LOL

Well really I've stopped missing him because we hardly seen him after the week Baby Billy went. I'll miss him in the sense that he's the only soap character I ever really identified with through his gay storyline. I agree though had it not been for that particular storyline, the character of Todd Grimshaw would probably have been axed ages ago, as really he didn't make much of an impact on the Street before the storyline. It was like him, Sarah, Eileen and Jason, that was pretty much his scope of interaction with other characters.

The gay storyline was HUGE and as a Corrie first, he'll always be remembered and through he made a big impact on the Street, other characters i.e. The Platts, his Mum, his Brother, Sarah, Bethany, Katie, Martin.

The guys on the Snared Thread will miss him terribly. I personally have stopped missing him because we haven't seen him much lately. But I would like to think we'll see him return one day, maybe for Jason and Sarah's wedding lol

Knuxs7 that's very harsh. I'm sorry but there's no need to call Garbage a bigot.

At the height of the Todd and Karl storyline it was good, it was something new, and for the most part very enjoyable. Karl's return last week ruined the whole storyline in my opinion. I cannot understand why Karl needed to come back. Whether people were happy to see "sexy Karl" or just see the Corrie gays briefly reuinited, for me the events of a couple of months ago, culminating in the death of Billy, were enough to end the storyline.

I've said before that I found last weeks episode featuring Todd and Karl very forced.

Todd has changed from being a half interesting character into a boring, one dimensional character whose only current purpose on the Street is to be gay. The "homphobic" scenes with Vera and Les and the big speech to Karl in Number 11 all did nothing for me. It seems that the writers have made Todd's sexuality more important than Todd himself.

I won't miss Todd as he is at the moment. If in the coming months the writers choose to bring out Todd's many other facets, thus making him more interesting and important, I could easily change my opinion.
