FOXSAT-HDR delayed VoD audio
Muzer
29-07-2011
When using any VoD service (including iPlayer, ITV Player, and even the videos on the Jobsite thing), on my FOXSAT-HDR, audio is silent for the first 10 seconds of the video, then it starts, still in-sync with the video, but it effectively means you miss the first 10 seconds of audio.
I still have the beta firmware, but when I check for updates there aren't any, implying to me that the beta and the final version are the same. Is this correct, or is it worth trying to update to the final version of that firmware?

The Beta and Release 1.00.15 are identical.

Got any ideas on what could be causing it, then, and how to sort it?

Not really - I am a bit puzzled - what is your audio setup HDMI to TV or other. If you connect via scart (just as a test) - is it O.K. I would guess so. Try playing with lip-sync and dolby settings. What happens if you pause the video for say 10 secs - does it continue normally?

If you pause the video, it continues normally - same if you rewind it back to the beginning.

I've tried tuning off Dolby Digital, with no effect.

I'll try a SCART cable in a minute.

The reason I thought it might be a common problem was because on the questionnaire for the beta software, there was a question that was something like "how long after video starting does audio start in ITV Player?" implying the problem was known about.

Good point - i see you posted in another place - suggest a post at a place where you could ask Barry this question. He may know why that question was there.

I have exactly the same problem. I'm connected via HDMI to the TV and digitally through an amp for the audio. I'm kind of glad that it's not just my set up (sorry Muzer!).

I simply 'rewind' after a few seconds and all is ok, no big deal.
