Jilly Kitzinger is the Rani
Funny to say anyone is the Rani as the last season of Who killed off any Rani speculation for good but Jilly Kitzinger is more Rani like than any of the previous possible Rani's.
I don't think an Alien reveal would work with the tone of the series . I don't see it happened unless maybe they reuse the aliens from Sleeper but I doubt this as no-one in America will have seen it. No-one in America will have heard of the Rani either except hard core Who fans but it would help tie it into Doctor Who . |

I thought so, its been 6 years now of false Rani rumours now so claiming anyone is the Rani seems absurd now. Especially as there is another none Rani Rani in SJA.

I've no strong opinion on whether the character appears or not but the "no-one will remember her" argument doesn't really hold water. It's easy enough to "introduce" a character to everyone - the fact that a few viewers will know that the character had previously appeared won't matter at all. As long as there's no assumptions made - nothing in the story or the writing that only works if you already know who and what the character is - then it makes no difference. For a show primarily aimed at a young audience, even a character from two or three years ago will be "new" to many current viewers. It's not the same people watching it every year - if it was, the audience figures would rise steadily year on year automatically as new viewers start watching and kids become old enough to be awake and allowed to watch at 7pm on a Saturday. Every year, some people leave and new ones join the audience - DW and the characters in it is "new" to someone every week. |
