Fave single? Fave album? Fave album track?

I love Brandy especially when she was at her height of popularity with "Never Say Never" which imo is still her best album though I also love Human & Full Moon.

Fave single for me is definetly "What About Us"

Hot video too

The full moon era. Everything about it. The only album i have ever liked from Brandy.

ah I always hated "What About Us" as it sounds like a clunky mess. I think "Almost Doesn't Count" is my favourite song of hers as it is just lovely. "Full Moon" and "Aphrodisiac" are great too.
Back in the day, you were really either a Brandy or a Monica fan and I was firmly in Team Monica It is sad to see both being so irrelevant to the music scene when they dominated US charts in the 90s. I believe both aren't even 30 yet..they should still be at the top but both need major image and music revamp. Shame to see such talent going to waste.

Wow!I couldn't see this coming! But I'm so glad that there is an appreciation thread for Brandy.
I LOVE 'Never Say Never' and 'Blue Moon'.That's the 2 albums from her that I own.My favorite songs from her are 'Angel In Disguise', 'Happy' and 'Blue Moon' but she has plenty of gems in her back catalogue.

I forgot about 'Almost Doesn't Count' and didn't mention it as my fave

Brandy has been going through a REALLY rough patch, but the same can't be said about Monica. The girl is slaying in the US, especially in the Urban format.'Still Standing' has sold almost 600k relying on no more than 2 singles and these 2 singles both became huge urban hits and did well on the Hot 100 too.

I knew Monica had released an album last year but I thought it was a flop. Glad to hear otherwise I actually downloaded some tracks from it but I really feel she needs to go a little "poppier" to get more mainstream success. I admire her for staying loyal to her strong r&b roots but she should be a megastar on the scale of Rihanna and Beyonce, not just a niche r&b singer.

I think Monica is a clever girl and she knows that pop is not her niche, at all!Her voice is more soulful and almost gospel at times, so pop radio is barely going to playlist her.And most of the pop radio puppets can't even sell 200k of their albums and debut in the top 5 (Far East Movement, Pitbull, LMFAO and many more), while Monica sold 600k ww and debuted at No.2, behind only Justin Bieber.I don't think she needs to give r'n'b' up, especially now that even Beyonce underperformed

She was ok then but she didn't hit her stride until the late 90s imo

A Brandy & Aaliyah collab circa 1999 would have been so hot to cash in on success of "The Boy is Mine" with Monica.

I don't think they would blend well together. They were so different from one another in EVERY single aspect (image, vibe, profile, performances, videos, dancing skills -Aaliyah was on the same level as Janet imo and Brandy...well...she was never about dancing- and even their vocals wouldn't sound well on the same song ; Aaliyah was a soprano and Brandy had an alto vocal range)

I truly think it could have worked, Brandy and Monica's voices and attitude are also completely different but they made it work. With a good production team any duet can work.

It didn't need to even be a dancey video could have been another ballad.

Btw, looking at Brandy's back catalogue, I'm so gutted that they gave up on 'Blue Moon'.It was an amazing album and since 'Never Say Never' spawned 6 releases, then at least 4 singles off of 'Blue Moon' were necessary.
When 'Blue Moon' (the song) came out she was already 5-month pregnant, so I wish that she had shot at least one more video.

The worst thing is that 'FULL moon' (the song) is one of my favorites and when I want to listen to it, I expect to find it at B.
