Peri Peri sauce, in medium, hot or extra hot. Also Lemon & Herb and Lime & Mango for those not up for the spice. Here's the menu... http://www.nandos.co.uk/menu Marinades are on the first page.

I need Nando. As a Nandoholic, I am craving Nandos. I am fasting and not had anything since yesterday. Fasting ends at 9 tonight, and I don't know whether nandos will be open or not.

Thanks. The nearest halal one to me closes at 11. It is quite a bit a way. All the way at Manchester so I am not going to bother.

Ahhhh I do enjoy a Nandos.

They are a fascinating fringe between fast food and restaurant. A step up from McD's because you have food delivered to your table, several courses if you wish, but have to get your own self service drinks. The chicken is cooked to order, not sat on a shelf waiting. The self service drinks a fantastic bonus on unlimited refill - nothing worse than needing another drink mid meal and the server taking an age.

But not quite Pizza Hut, because you don't get seated to your table, order and served at your table as per anywhere I'd class as a restaurant.

I went extra hot last time I recommend side salad and coleslaw are great options to cool you down inbetween bites

My only gripe with Nandos is the size of the portions and the not very spicyness of the sauce. I wouldn't say I have a particularly hot taste (eg I usually find Madras curry is too hot for me) but I can slart the chicken in Nandos with the xxx sauce (the small black bottle one) and its pretty tame imo.

I would say that my tolerance for spicy food is average and although I can have the medium heat food, I can't use ANY of the sauces, too strong for me. And I usually have the half roast chicken with rice, and that's a huge portion.

the XXX is pure heat though, its a "pissed up lads trying to look macho" type sauce, but madras is not a 1/4 of how hot that is.
you got dodgy sauce in your place.

I have the medium heat too and the only sauce I can have is the garlic peri peri and to be honest even that is very hot in my opinion. There's no way on earth I'd try the xxx one, my oh loves it though and always gets his chicken extra extra hot.

I think it's actually quite spicy, I almost always have spicy food, I put chilli in most dishes, but at Nando's medium is my limit and then I have either wild herb or the garlic sauce.

And portions have never been an issue, sizeable portions of chips, garlic bread, coleslaw etc unless you only get a quarter chicken (which has the portion size in it's name) and a single side, I can't see how anyone could leave hungry.

I love nandos, I wish we had one here.

Was thinking of doing that but thought it might taste slightly odd.

Well there you go and I don't even live anywhere near you!

I had KFC today, just thought I'd add that in, we have a halal and non halal within a 1 mile radius.

There is no halal restaurant near me.
The nearest now that you told me is Liverpool, mostly the halal stuff are in Manchester .

I had Halal KFC- didn't like it. Nandos - I love that place.
There is a place in Manchester, I use to go to for lunch, called Rice- the Korean Bulgogi (however you spell it) is nice.
