Funny thing is - I HATED Rebecca on the xfactor.
Well not her, but her performances.
I always said, her voice is SO distinct, that I hated how she sang most of the songs Cheryl gave her.
What I wanted to hear was original stuff from her. Stuff that I hadn't heard sung by other people before.
And when her album came out, I bought it so I could finally decide if I liked it or not!
Let's just say - I love it. I love her voice, I respect her so much for writing (co-writing) every track, and I think this album deserves every bit of praise that it gets.
It is by far and away one of the best xfactor contestant albums. This is real, soulful music.
Anyone in doubt, just give it a go. You will not be disappointed!”

Great post. I liked Rebecca myself but I have several friends who had the same attitude as yours until they listened to 'Heaven.' People who have never bought or even considered buying a release from an XF act. Saying exactly the same thing: "It's real music."

(hopefully top 3).
