Well not her, but her performances.

I always said, her voice is SO distinct, that I hated how she sang most of the songs Cheryl gave her.
What I wanted to hear was original stuff from her. Stuff that I hadn't heard sung by other people before.

And when her album came out, I bought it so I could finally decide if I liked it or not!

Let's just say - I love it. I love her voice, I respect her so much for writing (co-writing) every track, and I think this album deserves every bit of praise that it gets.

It is by far and away one of the best xfactor contestant albums. This is real, soulful music.

Anyone in doubt, just give it a go. You will not be disappointed!”

Great post. I liked Rebecca myself but I have several friends who had the same attitude as yours until they listened to 'Heaven.' People who have never bought or even considered buying a release from an XF act. Saying exactly the same thing: "It's real music."

It's one of those albums that people will keep going back to in years to come (like Corinne Bailey-Rae for example).

I'll be waiting in anticipation for the album position tonight (hopefully top 3).

Where did the album chart?

From the Official Charts site:

Quote:
“Michael Buble’s ‘Christmas’, holds at Number 2 but sees its sales increase week-on-week by over 30% to almost 190,000 copies this week. Rebecca Ferguson’s ‘Heaven’, the only other new entry in this week’s Official Albums Chart Top 10, is straight in at Number 3 with over 128,000 sales, a figure which in almost any other week of the year would have assured the runner-up in last year’s X Factor the Number 1 spot. Check out a video interview with Rebecca talking about her album below. Meanwhile, last week’s Number 1, Olly Murs’ ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ slips to this week’s Number 4, but still notches up over 113,000 sales.”

Excellent sales... I'm happy for her!

128k, really excellent sales for Rebecca. She totally deserves it for telling Syco/Sony where to shove their insipid covers.

Massive sales. More than I ever imagined!

How do those sales compare to the other 3?

VERY Roughly- Cher Lloyd got 57,000, Matt Cardle I think 80,000, Mary Byrne 33,000. Somebody please correct me if i'm wrong.

LOL. Ironic that surely the most amount of money went into making Lloyd's album and yet it sold 70k less than Rebecca's album.

This is exactly what I said. I love her voice and the album, but on X Factor she didn't click with me at all. She's not a covers act by any stretch of the imagination, and that's essentially what X Factor is.

I bought the album today, love it! Fairytale, Shoulder to Shoulder, Run Free and Too Good to Lose are great!

I was always captured by Rebecca's voice, I thought she was far too good to be on the X Factor, but then I can understand why she did it.

I received her debut album for Christmas and I have to say it is really good.

That's great! It may take a good few weeks to get up the charts but I wish her well

Recently got her album, must say it's much better than I anticipated. I thought I wouldn't like it as much as I do.. it's really classy but current and enjoyable. I love it!

I 'bought'* this for my wife but probably play it as much as she does. It really is a very surprising album. Not at all X Factory if you get my drift.

* I actually downloaded it for free but fear not I am not a pirate - had to drink 10 bottles of Becks to get the vouchers to use on napster. Oh the hardship, lol.

She's just signed a huge deal in the US with Columbia Records.

From what I have just read, she signed the biggest deal in the US since Leona Lewis from the UK talent shows and topping Subo.
