Old analogue TV/Video setup
In the olden days when there was only 4 channels and you had your arial connection routed through a video recorder, was it possible to tape one channel whilst watching another?

In my olden days there were only 2 channels and no VCRs.
![]() In answer to your question - yes it was, the VCR had it's own tuner. |

ITV came along later (VHF band 3 if I remember correctly the first true yagi arrays I ever saw) requiring a tin box to remodulate the channel to allow viewing.

And when satellite tv went direct to home in the UK, I placed the TV aerial cable in to the satellite receivers UHF input and a Flylead was placed into the UHF output which plugged into the VCR aerial input, and that allowed the VCR to tune in to the satellite receiver. and the TV could tune in too. I still use this method of connection today.
