When you have a slice of bread and butter with your meal, do you pick it up to eat it or use your knife and fork?

Pick it up.

Why would anyone use a knive and fork for bread & butter, bread roll. Pizza with a knive and fork!!!

Another one for pick it up, the bread is usually there for mopping up / making sandwich with parts of the meal / Dipping into the soup etc.

So I not sure what you would need the knife and fork for. But hey everyone's different

Never have bread & butter with a meal. With soup, yes. Maybe with fish & chips to facilitate a chip butty! But nothing else.

My father used to make us eat burgers and pizza with a knife and fork.

Bread and butter is meant to be broken up into little pieces. It is uncouth to bite it from the mouth and even worse to be seen doing so.

In some parts of Italy, it's actually good manners to use a knife and fork whilst eating pizza. Obviously, that doesn't apply to everywhere, and is limited mainly to restaurants.

To be honest I eat pizza with a knife and fork. Not if I get a take away one as that'll be pre-divided.
But I usually crack an egg into the middle so eating with hands isn't an option.

Certain things lend themselves to being eaten with hands but I do try to keep it to a minimum.

I don't use knifes and forks at all I just push my face into the plate and the food goes on my face and I have to lick it off sometimes and I just open my mouth for the food to go in when it's on the plate and I always make sure that I get every bit off the plate with my tongue.
