Maplin 3.5 Inch Digital TV Improving Signal

Have recently bought one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/3.5-inch-por...||kword|3.5+TV for camping. It works fine out doors but as one would expect with a digital signal not that well indoors.

I have connected it to my home aerial system using a crocodile clip and rf lead, which does give a signal but it is still dependant on the telescopic aerial, which cannot be folded away, without loss of signal (even with home aerial attached)

Am I missing something here? is it to do with a mismatch on my home aerial? Does any one have any ideas as to how I could improve the signal, or a portable aerial I could take on my trips away.

Thanks!

It will be due to the mis-match.

Does it not have an external antenna socket, which is what you should be using when not using the telescopic antenna.
