1471 down?
Just had one of those "Your computer is infected" scam calls and when dialling 1471 to see if they left a number, there's a american lady saying something about an error? Is this usual with those kind of computer calls?

Is your provider BT? It's very unusual on BT.
If you're using another provider, Like Talk Talk - That explains all. |

It would be very unusual for a BT announcement to have an American voice. Usually it's that very RP woman who voices all of BT's announcements. (or you're not on BT, of course, which would explain why it didn't work, since BT usually is rock solid when it comes to telephony) |
