Can someone please recommend me a DAB digital radio for my home which also has DAB+ which lets you to tune in to digital stations in countries where they transmit DAB+ (preferred, but not essential).

Looking for something stylish and easy to use but won't cost the earth. Anyone here have DAB digital radios in their home or workplace?

I've got a Pure Sensia, but I think they still cost the earth. Not sure what DAB+ is but it gets digital broadcast, and internet streaming radio. Good loud speakers and great alarm function.

I have no knowledge of brand name DAB digital radios so no idea which ones are best and which ones aren't but is Pure Sensia a good one? Got the impression it must be very expensive?

I had a Pure Bug before. They're usually very clever, although my bug had a 5-day alarm so I could have it silent at weekends. They seem to have lost this feature on my Sensia, but I can access weather/facebook/twitter apps if I were so bored.

Thanks for that link, great mixtures of DAB radios there for me to choose from. Great find!

But these DAB digital radios don't come cheap do they! For some reason i thought they wouldn't cost a lot of money but there's some that cost well over £100 there, but maybe they offer value for money and have more features than the lower priced ones. Definetely a good variety there so need to think and pick the right one for me.

If anyone has something different please let me know.

I also got a Pure Sensia had it 15 months now and think its great but you are right the are still on the dear side even thiough they have come down in price a little since I got mine.
DAB+ is some new kind of digital broadcasting that parts of Europe have tried I think and its still to come to the UK.
The Pure Sensia is one of the better DAB radios out there and it has a nice touchscreen.
Get it if you got opver £140 to spend.

Only PURE Internet enabled and maybe a few other radios are alleged to be enabled for DAB+ out of the box, because they already had to pay for the royalties to use AAC(+). The majority of PURE radios can be upgraded, but I have heard that they will charge for it. Having said that, the UK radio industry is stating that it'll never use DAB+.

Wohnort's digicomparison site is probably the best place to see which radios can get DAB+:

http://www.digicomparison.com/dabplus.html

But be warned, the vast majority of UK sold radios have the AAC(+) decoding taken out prior to sale. For the UK, and for a cheaper radio, you'll probably have to look at forgoing DAB+ compatibility.

Don't know about DAB+ but the Roberts solar powered digital radio is excellent if you don't want to let recharging batteries become an obsession.

Awful signal with me at home, plus near Brecon where I visit, on my way up to Aberystwyth and across into Kington, its just a pee poor service so I stick to FM which is pretty much fine.

I can second this

what you have to watch is the rechargeable battery pack costs a fortune

however with this Solar powered radio is a power pack and 3 re-chargeable batteries , so no hidden charges

Search ebay for Roberts and Pure. I was just on earlier today checking them out.

Some in the auctions don't seem to have much interest or low bids.

I didn't watch long or do any 'Completed' advanced searches.

Note: Make sure your house is in a reasonable area for reception. Or borrow one to try.
They can be a bit hit and miss.

Our 'cheap' one is hardly used or we use it on FM.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I finally chose one, take a peek and see what you think - http://www.firebox.com/product/2815/...Radio?aff=1108

I found it for less on Ebay so didn't pay full whack but god damn these DAB radios certainly aren't cheap.

am tempted to get the Sensia from argos. only £127.99 at the moment. plus £35 for the charge pack. is it worth it for that price. seems like good spec radio. also whats the speaker quality like, and how long will the battery lasts. also how reliable is the pure lounge. regards popp
