Is it my imagination, but did the "Please wait for receiving broadcast information" screen always take so long to disappear on my Humax Foxsat - HDR?

It takes about 8 secs longer nowdays - this is to increase recording reliability. Schedule/Red will give you the cached EPG.

Seems like more than a couple of minutes.

Annoying, when you just boot up to do a "quick" set-up.

Time it. Longer times indicate a problem that might well be cured by a freesat tune without saving the results.

How long does it usually take for the guide to load for you all?

Pressing guide and I usually have to wait arund 30 seconds for it all to load up and the channel to appear in the background, but on a 2nd unit I bought, every time I press guide it seems to take around 60-90 seconds before this happens. I just thought that was a little long compared to what it used to be.

Mine takes about 40 seconds on the rare occasion I use guide. On the affected box try initiating a freesat tune and don't bother to save the results.

Done that. It's not 40 seconds every time I press guide. It is much faster on the other box though that I bought ages ago. Around 30 seconds to load the guide first time, and if you exit it and press guide again it only takes about 15 seconds as if it knows it's up to date. Strange.

I wonder if perhaps your old box is still on firmware version 1.00.13? - This generally tool about 30-32 secs. Do you leave you boxes in standby?

No, both boxes were left on overnight IIRC. I usually put them in standby but I wasn't in last night. This has been happening on the original box since purchase. The new box seems slower in comparison and the remote is more sluggish and more directional. I have removed all the plastic film strips so it's not that...
