Sad news for Dynasty DVD collectors!
I emailed CBS Home Entertainment to ask if they were planning on releasing Season 7 in the UK; or the Colby's seen as it was airing on CBS Drama. This is the response I got: Quote:
Thank you for your interest in CBS Home Entertainment. At this point there are no plans to release Season 7 of Dynasty, or The Colby's, CBS no longer own the rights to these shows so we will not be putting them out. I would recommend doing some research to find out who owns the rights and reaching out to them. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Their site has all the UK Dynasty DVDs from 1-6. I wonder what's happened here then?

Dear oh dear!!! I have the first six seasons of Dynasty on DVD and was looking to the remainder being released in due course. Now, CBS Entertainment is saying they no longer have the rights??
Are they taking the mick or what? |

They may (alright, not The Colbys admittedly) be available elsewhere on Region 2.

I was waiting for all the seasons to be released before buying the lot. This is not good news.

A similar thing has happened to Falcon Crest fans after 2 seasons--Its so frustrating!
DVDs are quite cheap to produce so I dont see why they keep doing this even if demand is lower than expected.

Im mad in terms of I hate a full series not being released to DVD.
In terms of Season 7 though having watched it and Season 8 on TV I wouldn't miss owning them on DVD as they are both terrible seasons. I WOULD miss owning Season 9 though on DVD as that was a wonderful final season. The best of all the primetime 80s soaps last seasons infact. |

I wish this had been known a few months back. I'd have recorded them from CBS Drama.

I did reply to the email telling them I didn't quite understand what they were saying; how can they not have the rights? The show was on CBS; CBS Home Entertainment is releasing the DVDs to their show, so how can they not have the rights to it? They've already announced that the 7th Season will be released in Germany in December
![]() I haven't had a reply, but I can join you all in feeling extremely disappointed by this, but I'm not that surprised to be honest. The Season 6 DVD was a really poor set and I could tell then that they were getting sick of making them. The quality wasn't as enhanced as the previous series', the audio is shaky to say the least and, surprisingly, the soap-net copy's on youtube are better quality. Very disappointed by this. May I refer most of you to two youtube channels; http://www.youtube.com/user/smck2009 Smck2009 has Season 1-9 of Dynasty uploaded and the Reunion. http://www.youtube.com/user/LBColby?...2AF8F6D3C3F332 LB Colby has episodes 1-13 of The Colby's and has continued to upload the rest of S1 & S2 here: http://lbcolby.blogspot.com/ We're just waiting for a couple of episodes from LB now then we'll have all of the Colby's uploaded too. But to be honest, it's just an absolute shame that fans aren't getting them on DVD any more, I am new to the Dynasty world, I started buying the DVDs in 2009 and since then, I've been hooked. Season Two & Four are my favourites, but I did like Season five as well. Season Six is pretty laughable at the moment with this "Krystal's double" thing though

Started out the first 3 season with Fox Entertainment - and then CBS DVD picked up the rest of the series - I wouldn't give up hope! |

Why don't you try ABC in the US? Dynasty and the Colbys were originally shown on ABC (CBS had Dallas at the time). Worth a try.

Paramount are holding the rights. You might wanna try emailing them. They would still need a distributer. Find out what's going on with them.
