Get More Potter with Pottermore (Official Thread)

After hijacking the Deadly Hallows thread for the past few nights, it was agreed it was time to move to somewhere new and official and actually relevent

An intro for those who need it

Pottermore for those who somehow don't know, is a, well no one seems to be entirely sure but we think it's some kind of RPG/interactive book experience. Theres talk of house selections, and wands and never before seen information from the author herself. The site is currently under beta, and goes live in October. However each from now to the 6th there will be a chance to join in early. Visit the site for more details if you haven't already.

Don't mean to spoil the party but recruiting people for a Harry Potter website isn't strictly a movie subject is it?
There's numerous Potter threads as it is, maybe this should've been posted elsewhere and a link to it put in the Deathly Hallows thread.

The OP put it here as they weren't sure where it should go, and are quite happy for the mods etc to shift it

Was discussed. We thought that is was both related to both movie and books. Theres no website forum, (or anything close really) and in the book one, it may not get noticed, so we thought here, and will leave it to the mods.

we gave you false hope that something had happened - sorry, we meant in the future

There does look to be a "like" function from the screenshots so it could be possible to add friends too and have those social aspects to it

I like to think I'm an expert on Potter actually but I'm... not lol

Give me time but ask me a question and I go blank.

But I don't think the help pages give too much about what's coming up away do they. I hope we do though. Can't wait till October.

I was looking around the child saftey section. Under 13's have some heavy restrictions, as expected but then theres this

We do not allow users to send private messages or communicate with each other directly.

It's not all that clear who that applies to. I don't whether it's everyone (which I think it's unlikely) Though the headings not clear, it does fall seem to come under the "under 18's" section, which as someone registered as 17, is a little annoying as I want to be able to add people etc..

I get the whole child saftey aspect, which is great, but under 18? Really? My parents have the right to suspend my account? Is there going to be some R rated section or something (which I beleive is 17 anyway?

Why not 17? I'm an adult in the Harry Potter Universe.

**Sorry for the semi rant

I haven't got an account yet because it's the holidays and by the time I'm up it's over!

Nearly bought one off eBay for 99p but eBay removed it for some reason.

Well you are looking at a student of Hogwarts who has been kept back for 10 years so I have no age restriction, but that bit in bold makes it sound like it is for everyone - which I think would be fair as shouldn't be one rule for one and not another. Plus you will get kids saying their over 18 to be able to chat. So I think it is likely no PM system or anything - which is OK for me as I am an unsociable bugger at times hehehe.

I don't class myself as an expert but I didn't need the books for Monday and Tuesdays clues
