We have had a few difficulties with today’s Magical Quill challenge.

If you solve the clue, you may not see The Magical Quill but instead will be sent directly to the Pottermore early access registration page, where you will be able to register as normal.

Well that explains what happen, it would have been nice to move straight to the registration - didn't like today's website search of the quill. How many people lost out because they didn't refresh the page over and over? I only did it because I was in a section of the building where the Wifi was weak and kept dropping out so I had to refresh it on my laptop every so often.

I think we will all be getting them at different times (Sunday Signer will be getting them first, Monday Second, and so on.) As they seem to want to ease the servers into it and not have everyone bombarding the system at once.

Also I remember JKR saying the lucky few will get the beta - looking across the internet there does seem to be a hell of a lot for a few not that I am complaining if it was really limited I would have end up not getting one most likely. But just wonder how many are they signing up a day?

I think she only knew because of the insider page that I linked to earlier.

She wishes she worked on PotterMore. She's actually a HP fanfiction writer and is totally obsessed with HP.

I wish I worked on Pottermore too, but only because I think the designs are stunning and I would have liked them in my portfolio hehehe. Simple but elegant designs

Yep.

It's a very interesting concept for a website and I am going to have a lot of fun immersing myself into the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

You mentioned earlier about how many people are getting into the site early, apparently it's rumoured to be around 1 Million.

Yeah from the screenshots of the website, I think it looks wonderful, I mean the menu bar at the top, and progression screen through the books look amazing (as I said simple but elegant) it even looks like you can at least make friends and see their progression too

1 million wow, well I suppose the demand will be huge so this is a small percentage of the overall users just when I was thinking of "a few" I thought 100,000 tops

Wow. Looks great. I hadn't actually seen the screenshots but I watched the video that JK made. I'm so excited!

I wonder if you can re-do it all again after you've completed it once without having to change your username.

Yeah the screenshots do make it look great (I spent a good while seeing if I could make out words on the Hogwarts Express info one ) and as I said previously it just makes me revert back to childhood and get all excited hehehe.

I would imagine there will be possibility to redo it all again, it would be a bit of a waste if you could only do it once (although the sorting is said to be permenant so this would suggest certain parts at least are not "replayable") since most people can read all 7 books in less than 7 days so it would only last a week

You can read all 7 books in 7 days! I'd have great difficulty doing that although I would give it a shot. I'd probably get interrupted every 10 minutes with "Mum - She's doing this, Mum she's doing that."

I see what you mean about adding friends so I am currently compiling a list of usernames so I can add them all.

Oh I am not one of those people who can read them all. I just remember when the books were released (the later ones - Order of the phoenix etc.) before mine was even delivered by the harassed looking postie at 8 in the morning, people were saying they had read it, so just thinking of these people they could more than likely read all seven in seven days. I savoured them all an read a chapter a night, until near the end when I just couldn't stop reading, so they lasted ages with me

You are limited with the smilies on forums (I think you are only allowed to use 11 in a post ) but it is the only time I use them if I am honest - because people are always misunderstanding posts and are ready to rumble, so this way they know I am smiling so I am being nice and not starting trouble hehehe

I don't think there is much harm in discussing the books since Pottermore is about the books in a way. I mean when the site is up and running we will be reading the books along with going on the site (I think) so in that sense we are not going off topic. But saying that someone may say something, but until then I can't see the harm myself

I couldn't put them down. I have to admit I didn't get into HP until after the first 4 books had been released, I made my husband buy me the box set for an occasion but once I started reading them I couldn't put them down.

I remember going at midnight to get HBP and sat up til 5am reading it.

I didn't want to put them down - but I forced myself, so to savour the book and basically make it last I would only read a chapter a night. Self Discipline

I started reading them when they were first published as I was a pretty avid reader and picked up everything I could when I was a kid. Popular kid as you could imagine

I never went to any of the Midnight things because the potter crazies are out in force then so I preferred to order online and get them delivered on release day.

I really don't have favourites, right from an early age when people would say what is your favourite colour - I would be like "I don't know, they're colours!" So I never really pick favourite things, but I do enjoy the 6th and 7th book, but then I like the 4th too. As for films I am too much of a book fan and can't get over what they did to them to make the films so I came out of most of the films feeling disappointed in some way. If I took them as just films though I would say 7th and 8th, but then I did like the 2nd (unpopular choice ) but this is because it was one of the two films that didn't stray too far from the actual story and the acting seemed to pick up a bit with the trio, although not by much it helped

I enjoyed all the books but I think my favourite was DH.

I don't have a favourite film, I have enjoyed them all. I wasn't too keen on the changes they made and I kept comparing them to the books... I think my husband was pleased the one time we had to sit seperate because the cinema was packed as he didn't have to listen to my whispered commentary throughout the film. Although I fixed that when we left and ranted for ages about it.

I love reading. I actually read HP fanfiction for several hours a day, Although they don't compare to the real thing.

With regards to the next clue I have a theory.

Day 1's clue = 9am
Day 2's clue = 10am
Day 3's clue = 11am
Day 4's clue = 3:30pm

Maybe day 5's clue will be at 4:30pm?

They are staggering the clues to cover the time change so it's a guess that they will post some later ones too.

Anyway on that note, it's now 2:40am and most people are in bed now... I should be too.

Maybe we can talk more HP tomorrow? I have enjoyed the 'conversation'. My husband is more interested in technology than fantasy books.

Just going by what JK said on the "50 Greatest moments show" She's offering background material that didn't make it into the books as well as wands and sorting. Not much I know but one or 2 little promises there.

As for favourite book discussion, right now I'd have to say Order of the Phoenix as it's the biggest and the most involving. Up till then, I did the one chapter a night thing too. Which was hard. I used to read till I was mentally incapable of doing so before sleep. So I'd say just a little more... just a little more... before finally having to give up. Now I just read whenever it takes my fancy.

This is really the first fair chance working UK adults have at registering. Sunday, there was a lot of confusion, Monday, Tuesday and yesterday were during working hours. Hopefully there won't be some ridiculous 2am registration on day 7.
