Again that is nothing to do with JKR though, which was the original point. It is down the the creators of the website to make sure it is prepared for high traffic not the author of the book series

I've just signed up! What happens now?

EDIT: Now that i've signed up I have an urge to read the books again! I don't even know how many times I've read them over the years.

From what I read when the site was first being discussed, you were meant to use this site in conjunction with reading the books making the reading experience more "interactive", read a chapter then go through that chapter on the site kind of thing. So your urge to re-read the books should be encouraged, but I think you will be one of the few who will have used the site in this way - most people just rushed along to the getting your wand bit

She's involved deeply in the franchise beyond the book series. She didn't just write it and say "well, my work is done". She has major input into the movies, so it's reasonable she'd also be interested in making sure that Pottermore was easily accessible, even if she wasn't personally solving any technical glitches.

Yes she might be personally involved in the creative side of the website, but I highly doubt she had much involvement in the technical side, and making sure the servers would be acceptable for the high traffic wouldn't be down to her. You seem intent on blaming her personally for not making sure the technical specs were up to scratch, but it is more the fault of the designers and technical guys than it is JKR. The most she is likely to be involved in this fault would have been to say "I need it to cope with a huge amount of daily traffic" then it would be down to the team to work out what was needed to do this not JKR.

I'm actually not, as I have mentioned previously. But the creative and technical sides are linked. There's no point having a creative vision for a project if the people selected to bring it to fruition are doing a mediocre job.

OK so we agree it is not the fault of JKR but the fault of the web designers, all she did was pick the wrong people, which is a benefit of hindsight

If you're a Pottermore Slytherin, you can now access the first four chapters of Chamber of Secrets!

Lucky Slytherins!

I can wait. I was patient for getting myself access to the Hufflepuff common room.

And when I got there the class bullies nicked my wand. It was awful.

Hufflepuff bullies just sound oxymoronic

To be fair I have just gone through the first three chapters nothing much that would make you completely jealous not getting in early

Spoiler of second and third chapters probably best read after you have looked on the site yourself:

Spoiler

I've not peeked at the spoilers

I've heard the chapters will be open to everyone tomorrow but I'll probably wait until they're all open anyway.

I just can't wait till Book 3 when we get our Patronuses.

Wouldn't we get our Patronuses in book 5? We are not playing as Harry Potter after all, so we should learn it when we join the DA. However I am not sure I can join the DA being from Slytherin and all

Book 5 is ages away.

Let me think this through a bit.

Everyone gets wands.
Everyone goes to Diagon Alley.
Does everyone get so many Galleons?
Everyone gets sorted!

You might well be right actually but my thinking was about the moments. In the moments we follow Harry's story just as the books do.

Aye that is very true, I still not sure about the patronuses, but it is true that we still follow Harry's story and do as he does, so it is completely possible that we will learn patronuses in book three - however if we learn everything at Harrys pace there will be nothing to do at the DA meets at all

The first 4 chapters were opened to the Winners of the House Cup (Darn you Slytherin )

They'll be opened to everyone tomorrow.

I'm not sure when the rest of the chapters will be open.

Well if you are Slytherin the first four chapters are open for you now, otherwise you got to wait - maybe tomorrow according to LordOfTime, but unsure whether that means the whole book or just the first four chapters.

Edit: Beaten to it

Perhaps we'll be able to develop them as time goes on, Gryffindors get to teach them while the rest become the pupils? Even let the Slytherins in, after all it was only Malfoy and his cronies who caught the DA out.
