It was the highest Saturday rating ever since June 2008 (BB9, first week)

tbh - I was saying pre air 1.5-2m a night is prob what will happen - so far its done alot better than that.

You've gotta love the dooom mongers on this forum though

Yesterday’s audience was the biggest for a summer Saturday night highlights show since June 2008, over three years ago. BB11′s first Saturday episode averaged 2.1m, whilst a year before BB10′s first show on a Saturday entertained 2.2m.

Everyone 2.74m is huge for a Saturday.

Traditionally Sundays get around half a million more than Saturdays, so we are looking at 3m+ tonight.

Also, channel 5 have finished 3rd in prime time for 3 consecutive days now, I'm sure that's something that doesn't happen very often - and I'm sure they'll be delighted!

Awesome ratings so far, up on last year and the highest Saturday rating since 2008. Can't get much better for C5!

I can't really understand the attitude that everything to do with C5BB is inherently terrible and everything must be spun to make it sound like the show is on the rocks.

Give it a chance or, if you hate it so much, stop watching! Can't be good for your health to get so wound up by the negativity.

I'm watching the rerun as I was out having a life on a Saturday night. Shocking behaviour really.

I think people must be sitting with a notepad and pen, scrutinising everything about it so they can construct the most denigrating posts on here.

Excellent rating and let's hope it bounces back to 3m tonight.

Only got 2.74 million??
That is a really good rating, especially for Channel 5 on a Saturday night.
Do your research!!

Hope C5 continues to beat C4 in every head-to-head too.

A very good rating.

Further evidence that Channel 5 got it right with regards to the live feed, addicts now have to tune into the live show... some ridiculed the live show before and only watched the live feed... now they have to watch the show where rating matter... regardless of how much they stamp their feet!

Just watched it. Very enjoyable highlights show. Not significantly different from any other highlights show in any other year.

Live feed really doesn't have an effect on rating either way.

It depends how you look at it... I prefer my thinking to have a shade of grey.

As others have said, this is a very good rating for C5 and for BB. The things the networks look at are the share and a like for like basis on previous years and previous weeks. 2 million will sound low compared to a launch show, or the population of the UK but could be very high if, for example, the total number of viewers across all channels in the UK was 5 million (that's just to make a point) It would also be very high if in the same slot last week C5 only had 800k viewers. So it's the bigger picture.

BB always has and will drop from a launch show to the highlights, same as the final will pick up viewers.

So no crisis meeting, no C5 panicing that the show's a disaster - YET. It is only a couple of days in, so next week we will see things settle and get an idea of if people are sticking with it or switching off

Actually the new format of the show is curing my BB addiction. It's not must see for me now. I just record it, ffwd through the repeated bits, watch the 15 mins of new footage we get every 24 hours then delete. It's a slow withdrawal but I think I might be clean by the end of this series.

I guess C5 may have got it right for their target audience so really it's BB - The Nexr Generation. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the old BB.

That's good to hear. Still doesn't really effect ratings either way though.

And Channel 4 regret 'burying' it, I bet.

I think it does, for the reason the poster gave above - less opportunity to tune in when you want means being a slave to the HL show. The ratings seem to reflect that too.

In any case, there were posters yeaterday arguing the opposite - that, with no LF, no buzz is created, and thus les people watch the HL show. I assume you disagree with that theory too.

I'll let you think about my earlier post a little more, get back to me when you work out what I said, we can discuss it a little more then... if I am free.

Its not a bad rating to get when 10 mill have just sat and watched another big reality programme
its easy for people to swith over and just carry on watching

why do you think the Xtrafactor is always on straight after the Xfactor

quite clever of C5 to put it on at that time
NCIS was late starting and finished just before Xfactor finished

I can see C5 doing this every week so they can get follow on from the Xfactor

The Bots show has dire ratings, it needs to go

That wasn't the case in BB10.

You would be right to assume that.
