BTCC - No series links

Noticed the BTCC live racing on ITV Sunday and the highlights show on tuesday has no series CRID codes so the existing series links were dormant. Sent the following mail to ITV:

Quote:
“I have two series links setup to record the British Touring Car Championships – one for the live showing on Sundays and the other for the highlights shown on Tuesdays (both on ITV4). I have noted that the series links were not working for the upcoming live showing on Sunday 7th August and the highlights on Tuesday 9th August. I have cancelled both of the series links and attempted to re-instate them but it appears that these programs have been identified as single episodes only and not part of a series. I have checked this on both a Freesat and a Freeview receiver with the same results.”

Had the following reply:

Quote:
“Thank you for your recent email regarding Series Link.

This is because the BTCC isn't a regular weekly event, there are occasions when there is no future link if there is a break between fixtures, as is the case with BTCC. This link would not be available until we have signed off the confirmed schedule.

Race dates for the BTCC can be found at the following link: http://www.btcc.net/html/racedates.php. However, we can only confirm schedule dates/times 10 days in advance.”

I thought the Freeview and Freesat specs stated that series links could be dormant for upto 3 months before they were automatically removed from the schedule. I also thought that the broadcaster had to wait 3 months minimum before the same CRID code could be re-used and allocated to something else.

I do wonder why they offer series links at the start of a season if they are not going to honour them throughout the whole season.

You've already posted in the Freeview threads.

Why? Is it not relevant to both? Until I had a Freesat box I only frequented the Freeview forums and would never have looked in the Freesat forum for problems. Similarly I'm sure there are many people with Freesat recorders that never check the Freeview forums.

How would you suggest I alerted all Freeview and Freesat users?
