Pamela's Quickstep - No way should that have been a 40. Like a good few others I formed the impression that the powers that be probably wanted her in the final, but with her lacking the public vote the judges thus overmarked her in order to compensate.

Should have got a 40 - Restricted to one I'll go for Kara's Rumba.

I was amazed when Lisa's Cha cha got 40.

To be honest, I completely forgot Pamela's Quickstep, so I defaintely agree with that. Likewise her VW. It was beautiful but, for me personally, it wasn't hugely memorable.

Matt's Waltz was lovely, and at the time I was thrilled with the 40 but, looking back, I'd have to agree. I almost felt the judges were overcompensating (sp?) for the disaster he had the week before with the Samba/Foxtrots.

As for dances that deserved 40's, but didn't get them, I could be here all night. That's a totally different story, however.

Totally agree, tinyangel. After all these years, you'd think I would have come to terms with the fact that the judges' scoring bears little resemblance to my opinion. Alesha's VW and waltz were both incredibly lovely (the VW being my favourite of the two), and Kara's Tango, AT, AS, Rumba and VW were all deserving of the perfect score, in my opinion.

I console myself that Len's nit-picking 6 for Kara and Artem's AS in Blackpool probably got them a huge number of sympathy votes from an outraged public (well, I hurt my finger repeatedly stabbing the redial button). I remember how Matt & Flavia's perfect score was greeted with a similar level of outrage and howls of favouritism, ditto Lisa and Brendan and, last year, Pamela and James. So it is not always a good thing to be viewed as the judges' favourite.

Kara and Alesha deserved Perfect scores.

I did not think Lisa deserved 80 on the final.
Pamela's Quickstep was around 36 MAX IMO.

Kara's Paso and Tango IMO should have got 40.

What I was annoyed about last series was that Kara did not re-dance her Paso as it was one of my fave's. Why did she dance the American Smooth after Len's Mark? Anyway, it is a shame cause Kara was twice the dancer of Pamela yet she never got a perfect score.

I'm not saying it didn't deserve it but I still don't get the appeal of Alesha's Cha Cha Cha - remember people raving over it. I much prefered her Ballroom in general which I think she generally scored better in?

I have to agree. I'd forgotten about that but it certianly didn't deserve such a high mark when she had horrible bent legs. Alesha never straightened her legs properly doing the latin.

Her ballroom was better.

Alesha never scored a perfect 40 for any of her lovely ballroom dances, nor for the Cha Cha - she got 39 the first time, 38 in the final and 36 in, I think, a Christmas special (saddo stats geek).

Yes, Alesha never did straighten her knees, but I have to disagree with both of you about the Cha Cha - I thought it was an otherwise excellent dance, brilliantly choreographed by Matt, and full of pizazz. I remember applauding my TV when I first saw it!

What made me ultra suspicious was Len in the final saying "we've got the two right finalists" (or words to that effect). As a result of that, I still think Gethin out polled Alseha and Matt DA and should've been in the final, but, of course we've no way of knowing for sure.

Anyway, after years of therapy, I've finally come to terms with it ”

I'd forgotten about that one Another travesty. Yes that probably deserved 40 as well.

Jill's dress tangle didn't hinder her dance though.

i was going to say that, in an interview on ITT a couple of years back she said she left it because she knew there was a part where she does the splits assisted by darren and she knew she would be able to get it out then

Still astonished Kara never for a 40...her rumba, tango and VW all deserved one
Pamela's Quickstep was not a 40 imo and her VW didn't deserve 40 either
Lisa and Brendan didn't deserve a 40 for their cha cha cha either

Yes - and funny how they turned a blind eye to her mistakes -like messing up the Cha Cha in the final

One that springs to mind is Lisa and Brendan's cha cha. Don't think they deserved 80/80 in the final

Totally agree - the judges overmarled her to give her a chance at sneaking through. PM for you

Footygirl is correct there were mistakes in the routine and were ignored. Judges should not block out mistakes like that.

Got to agree with previous posters and say Lisa and Brendan's cha cha. Seriously - that was worthy of 40 and Rachel's rumba wasn't? Also their quickstep the week before. Beautifully danced but so slow. Their final foxtrot, on the other hand, was lovely - no complaints there. Also agree with Pamela's QS (and her Charleston) but I thought her VW was excellent although there was too much early faffing (fault of the series rather than her or James though). Matt DA's waltz is another obvious example and the silly thing is it was unnecessary. Gethin was going to finish at the bottom of the leaderboard and Alicia at the top whatever. Both Gethin and Alicia's waltzes were at least as good if not better.

As for which dances deserved a perfect score - well one has already been mentioned - Rachel's rumba. The only rumba that has truly held my attention from start to finish. Her tango was also bloody amazing as was Kara's. And Mark and Karen's AT - the original and the best (although again Rachel's was fab).

Sorry, I've just got in from an evening out and am a teensy bit...er... tired. For some reason decided to spell Alesha's name as Alicia as my niece's name is spelt thus. Sorry about that. And about the essay above. Probably makes naff all sense x.

Have to agree with all the shouts for Lisa and Brendan's Cha Cha Cha...I couldn't believe it when I saw Craig hold a 10 up! (still haven't forgiven him for Mark & Karen's AT)

I think the judges are guilty of overmarking for their own reasons often - they overmarked Chris and Ola's Charleston massively to avoid making the final a complete point whitewash - they obviously knew he had more votes than Ricky so couldn't have them as far apart as they should have been.

Should barely have been 30 nevermind 40!!
