Why does everyone think The Wanted are ugly?

It's been mentioned loads of times in the media and the general public about how the members of The Wanted are not considered a good looking boyband. I've looked at all 5 members and think they're a rather handsome bunch of lads, however it seems to be that the youngest lad in the band gets the most stick, I actually consider him the second best looking one in the band (behind Tom).

Don't listen to other people when they criticise someone you like - especially the UK tabloid media, who are a national embarrassment and thankfully some of them are heading to jail.

I don't think they are 'ugly', I think they are talentless and an embarrassment to music but I don't think they are ugly. I just don't think they are conventionally good looking (with the exception of the one who get engaged to the soap actress) the same way the guys in Westlife, McFly and JLS are.

What makes the wanted so popular is that they are average obtainable lads you could imagine being in your class at school. I imagine that was what they had in mind when they put them together.

I think the band has been put together to appeal to all tastes, rather than having 4 or 5 guys of the same look/style. Their look is less bland and more real than most boy bands.

I remember meeting boy bands in the 90s and they always looked so much more 'normal' in real life, because they were made to look too pretty for TV apperances. The Wanted look like lads you would find down the pub, not on a modelling shoot.

The first time I ever saw them was when they were being interviewed on Xtra Factor talking about One Direction, who they liked. They looked all right to me. I suppose they have no star looker like a Duncan James or Aston Merrygold or a notorious womaniser like Lee Ryan or Brian Harvey in the band though.

I'm a bloke, but I think they probably have the Spice Girl factor - average looking, the kind you can run into anywhere. I think 'their' 'music' is awful and they are pretty poor live singers, but that's not what this thread is about.

th youngest one (Nathan) is the one all the young un's like (like me though at 20 i think i'm slightly old

) and the oldies like Max.

i think as a few people have said. they seem attainable, like normal blokes.

Because with the exception of the skinhead and the Asian guy with the Elvis quiff, they look like they should be hanging outside a Morley's Fried Chicken outlet on a Friday night spitting at pedestrians.

i like nathan he's cute , hes suprisingly younger than me bless him.

When they first came on the scene I was shocked about how un boyband pretty they were. They have grown on me but certainly don't look like a good looking boy band in fact IMO they do look slightly thuggish which I suppose fits right in with their bad boy image

I like GYC though is a real catchy song
