Letter 1

Dear Josie

I split up with my husband of ten years a year ago and it's hard to remember what on earth I ever saw in him. I know I loved him once, and we have two kids, but I hate his guts now. He is manipulative and controlling and made my life a misery and in the end I admit I turned to the comfort of another man to escape his clutches. Since we broke up, he is always getting his nasty little digs in when I drop the kids off - mostly about my weight. I wish I could never see him again. I might move to Australia and take the kids. What do you do when love turns to hate?

BIB 1 - Josie has said this about John - cringe I think was the word she used. She said he was manipulative etc

BIB 2 - Well he made a dig at her weight when he retweeted that picture of Josie.


Carla, firstly get the idea of moving to Australia out of your head. Running away will solve nothing and it would be wrong to take the kids away from him however mean he was to you. If you really truly hate someone it means that you still feel something for them. You need to switch off and hold your head high. The best way to get back at someone is to be successful, be happy. Write yourself a wish list of your dreams and get through that. Then forget about the idiot.

BIB 1 - Running away reference - wonder who she means?

BIB 2 - She's said previously that it's turned to hate between her and John James - so now this means that they still feel something for each other

Well I guess being thousands of miles away will give you the space you need to block things out and gain your version of ‘closure’. Maybe that’s why John was able to move on to someone new almost instantly.

I think it must’ve been hard for Josie in the weeks after the split, sorting out their stuff and moving out of their joint home. Then fulfilling her commitments and promoting TSAJ, question after question about John and the breakdown of their relationship. It’s enough to crack the strongest of people.

Regardless of what stupid, heat of the moment things were said over the phone I think maybe Josie was living in hope that things would work out. I think that’s why all her interviews at the time were all confuddled, trying to process what was happening. Having hope, and then realising that there is no hope to be had is the worst feeling. We have all probably experienced that in our lives.

Maybe they were both living in hope towards the end. Hope that things would work out between them. Relationships end, and its sad. But I think it is the messy ending with no real conclusion that has left Josie, perhaps John, and definitely us dangling.

So we are left with John blocking everything out, Josie trying to re-write history, and us wondering what the hell happened.

I have now just read on Muckers that Josie has gone along along too- what a lovely down 2 earth girl- why didnt I go too ( bloody 2 many kids i only have 3 but at
present i have counted 9 kids in my house) josie and I could of chatted as we cleaned in our marigolds

Josie s 10 part plan to surviving BB house. All points relate either directly to her or to her and John. The first one of falling in love, shes now convinced herself it wasnt that at all when we all saw it was very much love, maybe not in the average boy meets girl in pub sort of way, but does it matter where or when or how, it happens. It was especially real cause they started off as good friends which imo makes it more realistic, and then suddenly realised much to their amazement that it was more then friendship. i dont know why Josie is trying to rewrite history here maybe it s less painful for her this way, to convince herself it wasnt for real to start with. When love relationships breakdown part of the grieving process is a state of denial and I think shes stlll at this stage.

As for her advice on not having sex in the house, I dont believe that has happened yet between anyone, is she saying, that it did happen with them. I am not convinced that all the time John and her spent under the duvet were completely innocent lets put it that way, but I do agree with the implication that it complicates things and you could get emotionally tied up with someone who you are not sure you are going to have a relationship with, I do think that she thinks and acts out of her own insecurities. Generally the advice is good, uncomplicated and down to earth.

No is not a healthy way of dealing with stuff especially loss and the trouble with blocking things out is that they can sometimes come back to bite you in the a.... to be blunt. Getting into another relationship straight away is not healthy either as its just to fill a void and not fair on the other person, but men often do this cause emotionally they are not able to deal with deep stuff, not being sexist just the way most are wired.

BIB Agree The term 'bb eyes' really annoys me. People seem to want to downgrade their relationship because it happened in the house, and now the realisation that it wasn't real. Well as far as I can tell for that period of time it was very real. There were real feelings and emotions all tangled in the most extreme of situations. And I am sure when those feelings were hurt that both Josie & John felt real pain.

And yes it is true that in the 'real world' Josie & John would never had got together. This doesn't mean it was never meant to be. For me it makes their time even more special. They lived on opposite sides of the world and BB brought them together. To find someone you connect with so deeply, that ordinarily you would never even come close to meeting.

Letter 2

Dear Josie,

I split up with my boyfriend a few months ago but just can't stop thinking, what if ....? We had a very volatile relationship as we are both headstrong and big characters. We were very much in love but couldn't live together. I admit my ..... anger got the better of me at times but I so want him back, My friends made things worse as they were nasty to him as they only heard my side of the story. He has supposedly moved on but do you think I should try to contact him to put things right?

I have to say this Julie, but if he was that bothered wouldn't he contact you? You think by apologising for the things you've done wrong that you'll feel better in yourself then do that to get some closure. Having said that a lot of the time you can think you're in the wrong when you're actually not so try to make sure before you do that. I'd suggest writing him a letter so that you don't have to meet him in person.

My interpretation of Josie's reply to this letter is

1 - If John was that bothered about her - he would contact her

2. - Did she write him a letter - did we not see this on one of the adverts for the programme??

3. - Be careful not to take the blame for too much just to get your bloke back - did she do this initially with John James?

4. He's supposedly moved on!!!!! Strange - why not He's moved on! End of!!

5. We were both very much in love............... well she reckons she's only been in love once ????

6. Friends on both sides - got involved big style

7. Is she reaaally saying - John if you were that bothered (like you said you were) you would contact me. NOW!

Josie in my opinion is trying so hard to convince herself that it wasn't real love.

I know what i saw in the house and out of it WAS.

Fab shoot for instance, look at the love in their eyes when they look at each other.

Nobody can fake that.

Just hope that she did write to him, but knowing how stubborn they both are

(Josie as much as John) doubt it.

John said he has never chased a girl in his life, but if we are to believe in GF well he chased her didn't

he, across the ocean.

I cant begin to know what is in eithers mind, but i still have this gut feeeling that they wil be together again

one day. Dont know why just do.
