not really helped out, by not choosing your own song it leaves it open for someone to pick you a rubbish one. Its taken into account when scoring if someone hasnt bothered to post their song. Generally most ppl PM their songs to be honest

I'm not trying to come across as negative of how you and Suzy have organised the show so that it is a success. I can see that it has obviously worked extremely well and hence its popularity. I hope you aren't too peeved off with me because it wasn't my intention.

And over the past 5 series - there has been such a camaraderie that if anyone heas PM'd a song choice it has been a fair selection not a rubbish one

At the end of the day we aim to be fair, but if someone doesnt PM their song we cant hold the entire process up when that person might not log on for another 4 days. So we open it for suggestion. The downside is you wont get to pick the best song because someone else will pick one for u. But on the other hand since series 1 i've always said that it has to be fair. I wont accept spice up your life for a Viennese Waltz for instance. To be honest it doesnt really happen a lot now anyway. Its only really tended to happen in the early series like series 1 - 3

Ok guys here's the first stats post. Obviously as it's the first night there aren't really any stats to go on, so instead what I am going to do is post some odds for who is favourite to win, and favourite to leave tonight. There will be 8 contestants on each list to make it less confusing, and this will be based on where I've personally ranked them. If I feel your song choice was good or that you have potential, then you will be higher up. If I think your song choice was not as good, or you might have been a bit too safe, then you will be lower down. However, I will point out that a lot of you are quite close together in my mind so don't be too disheartened if you end up on the second list.

It's not really helping them out cos even if a good song is chosen for them, I would still mark them low when voting for not bothering to put their own song choice in. Incidentally I always mark low for songs that have been used already in SCD as it shows no effort.
