At the time, I glossed over this by saying the split was down to basic incompatibility, and an inability on both sides to compromise. Which to some extent is true ofc, but on reflection I think your post highlights a deeper underlying reason for the split.
From John's perspective, it seems that he wanted to go back to relative obscurity with Josie (recall TSAJ references by Josie about John's hermit qualities and wanting to get a house outside London), presumably using the money he already had and them both being selective about what TV/mag offers to take up . . . but with them steering clear of the phoney zeleb party lifestyle.
From Josie's perspective, she wanted an independent existence where she could earn as much money as possible in her 12 month window of opportunity eg, in order to fund her family. In the modern era, most will understand that Josie was perfectly entitled to make the choice she did, but then I can also fully understand why John would then make the choice he did. I personally WOULD have done the same as him if my gf had got involved in the grubby low rent zeleb stuff and phoney party lifestyle. I do wonder whether she is disappointed that John, who might originally have seemed like a "fame-whore" in the house turned out not to be one after he'd done a few tacky OK! photoshoots, and that was one of their incompatibilities because he "changed"??
On reflection, looking at it from a John perspective (as of course the JJAT should be doing), I can better see your argument now. What's changed for me is that 6 months on it does appear much clearer that John may prefer not to be in the public eye and, from TSAJ and his tweets, appears to disapprove of the low rent stuff in the mags and on TV, really from the abortion article onwards.
Looked at in that context, I can well see that Jose had an opportunity with John which she "squandered" in favour of a different opportunity to be financially independent for 12 months. Your BIB sums up pretty well why the relationship ended imo.
In a way it's a classic illustration that love is rarely strong enough in itself to conquer all. Of equal importance is the environment in which 2 people live and the practical realities. In BB house - JJJ worked. In real life - JJJ discovered they had incompatible values and objectives. Love wasn't sufficient . . . and in itself rarely is. Sorry to all you romantics!

Hi all!
Just popped over the border for a read and had to say this is almost spot on imo!
I don't think it was a case of BB eyes. It was real. But their lives and values didn't fit... and the realisation happened against their will but was inevitable nevertheless.
Also I don't think your view is un-romantic at all.
