Just read this post. The more I think about it the more I think Josie was pre-selected. Was she ever spoken to about her behaviour towards Sam? The team also took care of her on the final night when Dave was evicted. She had the brown bag that suddenly appeared and I remember Josie talking to a member of the production team - guess it had to do with her panic attacks.

I also don't remember many of her diary room visits being screened - except of course for UBB. She never seemed to visit the DR as much as the other housemates. Or am I wrong here?

Very odd day today.

Police helicopters and police cars zooming and buzzing since 7.30 am. We live about 6 miles from large towns. Very odd. Hope everyone is well and safe today.

Goodness isn't it quiet today. Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes yesterday, while there was no or from John the red arrows have been very kind and promised me a little air display Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday weather permitting. BB and C5 have nothing on me.

Hi annie, they didn't show many diary room entries at all really. I used to enjoy diary room uncut but they never gave us that last year sadly. Would have preferred that to the ghastly BBBM.

The whole paperbag palaver was a real mystery, never heard her mention it until final night. I thought at first it was a sick bag.

its what makes BB fascinating to see how the Hm respond to whatever is thrown at them.....


But I think there are times when the production team do overstep the mark and push contestants too far.
The first and most obvious one was with Jade in BB3, and somehow her weaknesses were turned into strengths by the producers.....

I think you are right that the producers at the end wanted to use John to create drama and interest, but I agree with Khyra, some of the events of the last week went too far, and were cruel and unnecessary.
Letting Ben tease him that his mum was there and in the same hotel as Nathan, was cruel, broke the original rules by allowing the outside world into the BB house, and left John in a vulnerable and powerless position.

LIkewise the baiting from Rachel during the massage was totally unfair....Watching it, it was obvious, neither RAchel or John wanted to be there...and the whole thing was uncomfortable and excruciating viewing....
Didnt rachel even say she wanted to refuse, but had to do it becasuse of the terms of her contract?
Again bringing in someone from outside, like Rachel, who had additional knowledge broke the original rules of BB and was very unfair to John, who was trying to play a game that had already been fixed against him.


HOw was a scenario like that meant to be entertaining?


I agree with Khyra that after that day I wanted him to walk, so so much, but do agree that with hindsight it was probably a good thing that he stayed the extra day and exited from the front door.

And I think that there was a world of difference between Josie sobbing her heart out for Govan, and the way in which she was sobbing on the night before she left....

And as Khyra said, she was at a massive disadvantage within UBB because everyone else had watched the series of BB11, and she hadnt and had no idea at all about how she had been percieved....Which was so unfair....
Why couldnt she have been given a few days grace between BB11 and UBB, and reentered UBB a few days later....So many extra celebrities went in late, I cant see how that could have caused them any real problems?

I never got the impression that Josie had been particularly pre selected...I just thought she was desperately grateful to BB for giving her something nice.....and she didnt want to blow the opportunity.

It's horrid isn't it. Didn't really know how to use the old one but managed to see what I wanted to see but this seems way too hard for me

I bleat on about it - probably because it's nearly perfect - but give Tweetdeck a go, it's a much easier and clearer way of tweeting, with timeline/mentions/dms and anything else you like all in front of you at once in columns. You can block RTs, have columns for whatever you like and it automatically does longer tweets for you there on the page What's not to like

AlexBB3 Thank you (I think it was you) for bringing over the thread that Victor was posting on, I read it all was fascinating, and what a clever, lucid, charming and funny man he is.

It was interesting - especially with what Augusta has said above about producers - where he points out how obvious it was that the producers were backing Nadia to win all the way - giving her cigarettes via made-up tasks that were so win-able, not giving toilet roll until she made a to-do about it, things like that; he even points out that she is the ONLY person to hit two HMs (during fight night) and she wasn't evicted for it! Now that is pure favouritism.

To be fair to Josie, a lot has been said about her paper bags and supposed panic attacks.....
but she did talk on a couple of times during the day about previous occasions in the past when she felt panicky and short of breath, and Mario did ask her whether she suffered from panic attacks...
I didnt think that Josie spent much time at all in the diary room, I think she prefered to try and work things out herself, via things like her bouts of cleaning when stressed.
( which I thought were actually quite scary, ) I thought Josie was repressing a lot of her feelings and unable to talk about how she really felt, so it didnt surprise me at all when she said she had had huge anger issues in the past..

I do think Josie is a lot more clued up than she looked last summer, and I have disliked a lot of her actions and interviews since April, but I do still think she is a lot more vulnerable than people give her credit for, and was badly treated by BB when she went into UBB.


Its a tv show...for fun, so why should any housemate be made to feel particularly insecure or vulnerable? Surely they all should be protected...

Right now this is where I really show my ignorance its asking me to sign in to tweetdeck but underneath it says add twitter, If I add twitter will it transfer accounts over that I am already following?

Looked at in the round, I couldn't disagree with you more fundamentally about the "unfairness" aspects for John and Josie . . . . but perhaps that shows me to be more of an MF poster than an AT poster!

If you applied this same standard to every HM, there wouldn't be many watching. It could act as a charter for HMs to be in constant victim mode waving their sympathy cards!

It should bring in everything, your whole twitter account, lists, etc. they should all be there.

I think I agree with you... how dubious does that sound I do agree with you, in that it's a game and JJJ had to put up with whatever Big Brother decreed, and in fact were treated very gently by the producers most of the time, accorded a lot of leeway with regard to doona diving, etc. Most of the problems they encountered were brought on by themselves and how they reacted to situations, but I think they were treated more than fairly overall. They are meant to deal with whatever BB throws at them... that's the game.

and thats the rub....and where ive learned im so different in the way i think to so many different people


I think a game should be played by rules that everyone has agreed beforehand....
and I think the people responsible for the game, in this case BB, should put themselves into a mature and adult position and care for the people they are using on the TV show.


I know a lot of BB is about teasing and poking fun at people, and most people are quite happy about that, and that is what most of the games are all about.....but there is a line between housemates playing along...and housemates genuinely getting upset, and unable to cope with things. And once people start to genuinely get upset then the people running the game need to step in and stop it...

At the end of BB11, I was so cross with the way that Sam was allowed to take Corins wigs and make up and hide them.without any consequences at all, ..the BB production team just seemed to be just laughing and finding it funny and poor Corin had no one to support her or defend her... Unlike real life, within the BB house there is nowhere to escape and no where to get away from it all.....
Sometimes I think people need to step in and stop unpleasant behaviours. rather than just observing and being glad that they arent the one being picked on....

I have always been angered about what happened to Corin, the bullying in the last week or two - but mostly because the other HM's, on the whole, were in on it or enabled it by not stopping it. It says more about them than about Big Brother. BB was just doing exactly what Steve, Dave, John, Josie (to some extent), and pretty much every other HM was doing - watching it and allowing it to happen.

I always felt that BB11 production were encouraging Sam etc to pick on Corin! I feel by this stage they just wanted BB11 overwith and UBB the jewel in their crown to begin!
