Yes. Insurance can be particularly useless as there are so many conditions that are either uninsurable or soon become uninsurable once your cat gets them.
When you get insurance out, you get a list of complaints that your cat has had such as fleas,worms etc. So naturally you can't claim on them as nearly all cats get fleas and worms.
Tips? Just make sure you absolutely love it to bits... althought that won't be hard I'm sure, cats just kinda work their way into your heart.

Look for a nice one that is intelligent,comfortable sitting in laps and you can tickle and stroke. You'll have a friend for always.
Your new owner will expect nothing less than total subservience from you. It's easier to just accept this now.

Yes. Feed it and it won't die. Other than that, they pretty much take care of themselves. Smart creatures.

Daughter said, they are all so so so so cute. Her words, not mine. There were 4 to choose from.

I have two and me and my whole family, (husband including, who never grew up with cats and would claim to be indifferent to them) totally and utterley worship the ground that our two cats walk! They are our life and we wouldn't ever be without them.
You will find that you will soon adjust to having a cat, they are gorgeous animals, who will give you many years of love and pleasure.

I've got a couple of pics and will have a go at uploading.
They're not very good, kitten has just been separated from mum, siblings and owners, so a little scared and curious.
