Will be interested to see the half hour splits, 1m at 00:30 for Sky News is a big figure - and presumably a ~20% share.

The new TV Times has a new Series Preview which mentions when various programmes start, most of it is known already but still. Downton Abbey, Doc Martin, The Body Farm, SCD, DCI Banks, Shirley Bassey, and Red or Black are all on in September, Frozen Planet October and The Jury November. And Doctor Who August which no doubt is a shock to everyone heh.

They must be in a parallel universe... unless they're planning another article covering the ratings for the riots.

I don't have it on, but I assume ITV are also covering it live on This Morning.

Does anyone know when Spooks starts?

As for the news coverage, I cannot believe that while the PM is addressing the nation after these horrific events, This Morning are discussing Jedward. No wonder they have such a poor reputation when their obsession with z-list celebrities is more important than covering these events.

but in all fairness that is This Morning, its up to ITV to cut away from that when they need to. This Morning should run a normalish scheulde.

It was important to get the opinion of Steven Mulhern, Lesley Joesph and Iain Lee on the riots.

never mind that, only 2.2 million for ITV News when BBC 1 had 7.1m.

I know I bash ITV a little too much for the liking of somehere, but that isnt much better than its normal ratings, if at all.

I dont know I think the 7 million viewers is enough to make my point, without worrying about an extra 1.25 on BBC News.

It's a shame The Wright Stuff is off air this week, lots to discuss.

I was way off with some of my predictions last night, but at least I got BBC NaT spot on.

Very good for Sky News to beat BBC News in some slots, especially with their smaller reach.

Good that Sky News is in HD, will help the police identify the thugs more easily!!

Finally edged ahead of BBC News at 1am when they switch to that dreadful Newsday format where they repeat themselves every 15 minutes or so.

I think I'm right in saying Sky still had live reports at 1am from two or three of their correspondents on the ground. They did a good job yesterday.
