So Law & Order UK ends the series with a consolidated rating of 5.15m (inc +1), bringing the series average to 5.64m. Not a bad series average at all, and every episode being above the 5m mark in the middle of the Summer isn't bad going. Really it could probably have done with an extra 0.5m or so for the last 3 episodes but there you go. The individual episode ratings were:

7.03
5.63
5.62
5.27
5.15
5.15

A bit disappointing that the remaining episodes didn't hold on to more of episode 1's ratings, and that the finale didn't do better but overall that's not a bad run. Not too sure if it'll be enough for a further commission but by no means a disaster.

*All figures include +1 and are from either the BARB website or Broadcast.

Dreadful rating for Born To Shine last night. That one certainly won't be back! Good for Dragons Den on BBC2 at 8pm, whilst Countryfile and Ocean Giants are doing really well together.

I'm a bit surprised that Millionaire got pretty much the same rating as Saturday's episode. Looks like the live episodes have a core ~4-4.5m audience and TXF didn't boost it.

Looks like C4 had an all-time record low of 4.8%.

So a week of records - ITV1 and C4 both lowest ever, Other viewing highest ever.

I guess with record highs for the news channels that makes sense.

The kindest you could say to that would be not very well.

At least with BBC1 she had the existing hits to keep the channel doing respectably but most of her new commissions turned out to be crap. With C4 she has to create new shows to keep the channel going and I cant see her doing that and if she does find herself a potential new hit, im sure George Dixon can ruin it by scheduling it terribly.

Even with Big Brother down from Saturday, Channel 5 still had a great night with cricket and 10,000 BC doing well. SATC didn't do that well, I think the length hurt it.

What would be interesting, historically, is to have a breakdown of how the main terrestrial channel "families" have performed over the recent past. It would also be nice to have a "freeview" total and a "subscription-only" total graph so we can judge the impact that things like Sky Atlantic are having on the overall viewing landscape...

He said it isn't coming out of the main programming budget. Desmond recently upped the amount of spend on Channel 5's output. Presumably he upped it by the £40m a year required to get BB on the air. Good news if true as it means Channel 5 will be spending just as much on other shows as they were previously. This idea that it is taking over and leaving next to nothing for anything else would appear to be baseless.

That's good of Desmond and hopefully shows some business sense that he is not just relying on Big Brother.

Is that a higher ABC1 skew than usual for X Factor?

16-34 skew seems similar to last year, though. I think it's usually in the 24%-27% range?

I think it's about normal. Remember that previously, I accidentally used to do the skews out of all people including children, which made its skew for ABC1 Adults lower than it actually was. I posted TXF's 2010 final demos a few weeks ago: http://i52.tinypic.com/2jdwep.jpg

That episode had an even better 48% ABC1 skew. Although, I haven't got the data in front of me right now for other episodes, I suspect it's usually around the 45% mark most weeks. And you're right, the 16-34 pct is about 24-27% most weeks.

I think it's about in line with where TXF usually is, but it looks higher than BGT, which was usually around the 40% mark earlier this year. For some reason TXF generally has a slightly higher ABC1 and 16-34 skew than BGT. BGT was normally around 21-24% 16-34s whereas TXF is more around 24-28%. It emphasises just how big TXF is when you consider it not only is now comfortably ahead of BGT in total viewers, but it also has a slightly more desirable (for ITV) demographic skew than BGT.

Did The Inbetweeners article ever get published or did it go missing with the rest of the clunge i was promised, and are Sky News' ratings so amazing from last night no one can report them?

Interesting to see which demographic Celebrity Big Brother has lost out on most compared with the launch (Thursday versus Saturday) -

TOTAL - 5.09m vs 2.63m - 48.3% drop
4 to 15 - 562k vs 320k - 43.1% drop
16 to 34 - 1.72m vs 912k - 47.0% drop
35 to 44 - 1.14m vs 547k - 52.0% drop
45 to 54 - 904k vs 403k - 48.3% drop
55 to 64 - 450k vs 244k - 45.8% drop
65+ - 344k vs 204k - 30.2% drop

18 to 49 - 3.189m vs 1.604m - 49.7% drop
ABC1 Adults - 2.13m vs 0.915m - 57.0% drop

The biggest drops were in the 35 to 44 range and ABC1 Adults - unsurprising the latter as I imagine none of the housemates appealed to that demographic.

According to rzt's demos report, Top Inbetweeners Moments had 1.17m total viewers on Friday between 10:30pm and 11:30pm, picking up a further 240k on +1. Not sure how the full Series 3 rerun that followed went though.

EDIT: The first episode had 1.13m including +1 according to C4 Sales.

Oh cool, thank you

I wonder if C4 ever regret not airing S2 and S3 originally on C4, or whether that would have ruined it.

Good ratings, but I'm surprised Channel 4 haven't scheduled the repeats better and put them earlier into primetime, ie. at 10:30pm across a week or something instead of having a repeat marathon.

Cheers, rzt. Some very healthy late night shares for Channel 4 there, no doubt pushing them into first place for a few hours. The 1:30am showing had more viewers than The Big Bang Theory has had much earlier in the evening, so I guess they feel justified in their scheduling games.
