18 million is poor, about 300 million tune in to The X Factor!

About 200 million watch Daybreak as well (0.75 x 52 x 5)

They even said in that Daily Star article that 8m tuned in which was the biggest launch show for the channel, well obviously considering it was the first ever launch on Channel 5. That looks like its been written by a 2 year old.

I think launching Jonathan Ross at 9:45pm is a bit strange, yes its straight after Red or Black, but still, 10pm would be better IMO.

I assume they mean launch of any show, not just BB.

I don't think the evictions had been topping 3m for a while on C4 anyway, but that Daily Star article is an absolute joke. And considering we never discuss such "reach" figures here, we all know they're being made up by the Daily Star!

In other not so unrelated news Jay Hunt admitting that C4 have failed in plugging the gap left by Big Brother.

Channel 4 are just jealous of the success Channel 5 are having with Big Brother - they know they should never have axed it in the first place.... Still a very popular show!!! Proof is in the pudding!!

Go eat humble pie Channel 4!!!

Danny Cohen just announced BBC1 to air a number of sitcom pilots next year in an effort to "supercharge" the British sitcom.

7.00-7.30pm is pretty much free of swimming, athletics, and most other events, and there's the BBC Two option if they prefer that.

Really bad decision. It can only move to BBC2 and its going to suffer big time for it.

If that half hour is free they should use it for the News.

He must have heard you complaining about the lack of sitcoms the other day Pizza. He announced a series of comedy pilots for the first half of next year.http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pre...7/comedy.shtml

I think they'll stick to six to seven for the news. They've said the news is definitely staying on BBC One.

Yeah, I know they'll have the news, obviously. Just meant that if there is a half hour where there is relatively little going on, they should use it for the news (which they have to show) rather than EastEnders (which they don't).
