I actually agree with most of your list apart from Gaga and Katy Perry but people seem to eithier love them or hate them, and really anything is "real" music even Cher Loyd we might hate her music but it's still music.

Kelly Clarkson is pop rock.

Katy Perry - wishes she was rock but don't got the talent to make it lol.

Cher Lloyd - Not a fan of her or the music, but it's a bit of an epic fail when you can't even get the name of the song your slagging off right. It's Swagger Jagger not Jagger Swagger.

Katy Perry - She's no Adele, or Amy, or Duffy, e.g, but she isn't aiming to be. She's aiming to a pop-star. And regardless of how good you think her actual vocal talent is (I think it's shite) she does make good pop songs. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) e.g is just an example.

Beyonce - You're ridiculing of her as just some booty shaking thing, is a rather poor argument OP. At Glastonbury, she showcased flawless vocals something only the most anti-Beyonce of people would fail to notice.

JLS - I'm not a massive fan of JLS, but all you're doing is slagging off Aston Merrygold and not actually giving any analysis as to why JLS's musical content is bad in your opinion.

Lady GaGa - You're repeating a somewhat common theme on DS, as to only liking GaGa during her ''fame'' era but other than a bunch of snide remarks, you haven't cared to elaborate on why you show such a dislike for her current musical offerings.

Xtina - She's isn't the only popstar to use sex appeal to sell a record, and she won't be the last either. However, like your other pieces of commentary, you've failed to elaborate as to why you dislike Xtina's music post Stripped. I agree, that nothing she's done post Stripped that has been as good as Stripped, but that doesn't mean all of it has been bad (save for Bionic though).

The Wanted - Again all you do is slag off one bloke from the Wanted's looks. You have yet to tell why you think their actual music is shite. And this is coming from someone who does think their musical offerings (aside from ATL, admitedly) are shite.

OP, I can't help wonder what particular argument you're trying to make as to why you think all the artists are bad. You've failed to tell us anything specific about their musical content you dislike, or why you believe it shouldn't be in the charts. Instead, of you've slagged them off, and mocked them on a personal level. And this would all be great if we were in the showbiz forum and this was another ''the most annoying.....'' thread. Except it isn't. This the music forum, in which FMs talk about music. Start talking about these artists music, and we may have an interesting discussion on our hands.

Propaby none lol but it is still music to the people who like her. The whole "real music" thing just is just a away of saying I don't like this so it's not real music. It still is music we just happen to think it pretty bad music.

I think there is definately a place for pop music. Some of it is really good catchy music. If it isn't sung by the person who writes it does that automatically make it a bad song.

I admit to liking some pop songs.

Katy Perry has had some good songs out, as have bands like s club 7. Who would have thought that 20 years ago Take That would be as popular with men as they were with women!!!!

But I also like some obscure indie or rock bands who don't sell well.

But, just because they write their own music doesn't mean it is all good. I can't stand 90% of Oasis songs, so maybe I should put them forward as the worst band. I'm sure alot of people would disagree about that!.

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that it's not real music.

I hate how famous they are and how known they get for "their" music. They keep bragging by saying their name during the songs and act like they are so brilliant prancing around on a rock lol. I wanna see bands playing instruments and letting their music do the talking.

I can think of people that I don't like, but these are only ones I don't like. I think it's hard for any amount of people to agree on the 10 worst acts in music currently.

First of all (and most importantly) music is subjective. It's really hard to prove what you think is shit, because other people may love it.

Second of all, music is a massive word. You claim to be an alternative fan O.P. As someone who follows most types of music, I can tell you there's some absolute crap around, even in alternative, why not mention that?

This thread just appears to be people the OP doesnt like. The list you mentioned is real music but just not to your taste, which is fine but you are not superior to anyone else because you don't particulary like pop music.

BEP - Yeah another hypocritical band who sung the self righteous "Where is the Love" and then pulled a gun on the crew of Punk'd The superbowl performance was captivating, much like watching a car wreck. Meet Me Halfway is the only song I can stand by them, I just close my eyes and imagine it isn't that douche Fergie singing it lol.

They are still better than most bands out there. Flea and Chad Smith - musical talent is timeless.

You know those infectious melodies that Fall Out Boy have that make so accessible? Well they actually write them themselves, it's called having musical talent.

Barring GaGa, Beyonce and Perry, the bands I listen to are bigger than the acts on the list.
