I got a rescan request to add channels today - 3 channels added which display a message that they are 'coming soon' in HD. Also says that my equipment is not HD compatible - no surprise there. I am in a DSO area set for March 2012.

These three services are designed to be accessed by appropriate Freeview HD unit connected to the internet using the ethernet connection which is part of the FVHD specs. Access to the service is also dependent on the box having some MHEG instructions in its software (not all have this) and the ability to decode ipTV data reveived.

The MHEG instructions poll whether the receiver is Freeview HD compliant and if the internet connection is live. If FVHD compliant, the box will use a different slide similar to those used for the radio stations as identifiers saying the box is not attached. If not FVHD compliant, you get the message you have seen. If it is compatible and connected, the box downloads a diffrrent "Coming soon" slide from the central server.

There are other threads on this in the main Freeview Forums.
