Matt Flint!
Gill P

On Matt's LA Blog he says the following:

Quote:
“Got some exciting news as well! A couple of weeks ago Mandy Moore asked me if I would be assistant choreographer for her at the BBC working on Strictly Come Dancing It's all been confirmed and we jump into rehearsals for 3 production numbers the day after I get back to the UK! Happy days!!”

Brilliant news - I think he's great!

He would be a great professional too.

He previously said he'd love to duet with Brucie, I'd love that!

Nice one - Thanks for the link.

Think he will do him self proud on the SytycD Final, (unlike last years winner )

Ooh, that's interesting, although I'm not sure what it really means (a tapper and a contemporary dance choreographer.....) Have they used people like Mandy Moore on SCD before?

I hope we can get footage of his dancing on the US final of SYTYCD. It isn't on UK TV at all now, is it?

I'm sure a link will be provided

Like the sound of Matt dancing with Nick (gone to soon ) and Jess (gone too soon for my liking ). Should be a great performance.

As much as I didn't like Charlie Bruce, she got very positive reviews for her performance on the US final. She did have the advantage of appearing after a series with probably the weakest female cast the show's ever had.

I felt they bigged her up cause she was Nigels little English friend but in reality I felt the routine was bland and tired and emphasised the gulf in talent between the Us and Uk shows.

Hopefully that wont be the case with Matt, he looks like he would fit in with the Americans nicely.

Not that I'm aware, soupy. Seems a bit odd to me, to be honest. It's not as if they're short of choreographic talent within the Strictly pro ranks, is it? How a contemporary choreographer like Mandy Moore and a tap dancer like MattFlintMania can choreograph a ballroom number, I can't imagine. Still, it sounds as if they're talking about production numbers - I'd guess the opening dance once all the pros and celebs have been paired, and the closing dance in the final (if they go by last year's format).

Maybe it was a BBC backroom deal when they negotiated choreography from the likes of Katya and Artem for SYTYCD?

If you read Matt's blog properly you will see that he talks about "three production numbers" NOT actual ballroom dances. What that entails I obviously don't know but it is not likely to be pure ballroom.

Indeedy .
Maybe they have some musical spots planned that lend themselves to a melange...of something (they did something with the cast of Sweet Charity once, didn't they, or was that DWTS??)
DWTS has had some great numbers with singing guests who come with their own dancers and then mix it up with the show's pros....(there was one with Atem wearing white braces in it )
I've always been keen for Strictly to feature more guest spots from dancers (whatever their flava) so I'll be happy if it just means more dancing. Just hope its an addition not instead of ballroom and latin.

he was amazing on Saturday, wish one of the dancers would drop out every week just so we can see him in the pro dances!

BIB: that's cruel to wish for that! I don't think Matt Flint would wish for such a thing.

I hope not as I thought he was terrible.

I didn't - I too thought he was great. With NO rehearsal either. He did choreograph the number so would know the moves but this shows what a pro he is. Good on you Matt!

I thought Matt was absolutely great (has he darkened his hair or stopped lightening it?) and it was fab to see him on the show, but I don't think he has the ballroom/Latin training to be a pro on the show. This is his CV.
