How about a track by Dannii? That would surely kick The X Factor in the teeth!

I was thinking either "I Begin to Wonder" or "Who do you love now?" (which is possibly more aptly titled)

Anyone got any other ideas?

I reckon Steel Panther - Death to All But Metal

But that's just me, I think it would be funny to have it as Christmas Number 1!

I fear it's going to be a Cheryl song...

Whatever happened to the winner's single being an original?

I think he means the single that people should buy to stop the winner getting to #1, like RATM.

I agree though, the winner's song should be original.

I wouldn't be surprised if this year's "Make You Feel My Love" ie the song shown in most audition shows and used as backing music, was a Cheryl track, as someone has mentioned.

Love the Dannii idea for Xmas number 1 though.

"This is It" would get my vote.

Should be yes, but to get an original song that suits the winner is hard unless X Factor finishes a fair bit of time before Christmas Number 1. Songs need to be written for acts not the other way round. Hence why they do covers, song's already there, just need to chose the right one to suit the winner.

I do hope the winner doesn't get to number 1 though!

I say Steel Panther, or a proper Christmas song!

If Rebecca Black releases a song around Christmas with Justin Bieber being featured then it's going to slay the X Factor and go to No.1 because we all know that Rebecca is a legend.Maybe Soulja Boy, the mindblowing rapper with the master mind lyricism could deliver one of his poetic verses on this masterpiece, too

A Dannii track wouldn't work, since most Dannii fans are X Factor fans.

You'd have to choose a song from a genre where most of their fans hate the charts. So a rock song is the obvious choice.

I'm nominating THIS

We could always campaign 'Masterchef Synaesthesia'?

What about Die On A Rope by the Distillers?

It has to be a rock or metal song, because 'Bird On The Word' failed as it was comedic and annoying, not genuinely rebellious.

I give another vote to Steel Panther's "Death To All But Metal"

No it failed because Matt Cardles single was really good thats why it had 5 weeks at number 1

Just leave it these sort of things fail all the time

God of course, she'll be all over the X Factor background music I bet.

Love is a Losing Game will probably spend the majority of September onwards in the top part of the charts.

I would hope for Tears Dry On Their Own - Amy Winehouse.

But Cheryl Cole's Everyone would be funny, considering the lyrics.

Or Girls Aloud's Stay Another Day cover, as Cheryl sings all the verses.

No, it failed because it was a crap song and a disjointed campaign.

Matt Cardle sold less copies in the first week than Joe McElderry did. Matt would have lost against Rage by an even bigger margin, so let's not pretend that RATM only succeeded because it was against such a terrible winners song.
