Have my first LCD TV - quick question/problem
Hi all,
I now have my first LCD TV - bought second-hand off my brother (it's only a small basic 16 inch Alba). I have noticed that when I am watching the TV from even a slight angle the picture appears "ghosted" (is the best way I can describe it). I'm going to upgrade it as soon as I can - but I was wondering is this common with LCD TV's or is it because it's an older/inexpensive model? Many thanks. |

Cheap tvs use TN panel technology which have poor viewing angles.
Full explanation of different panel types here:- http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles...nt.htm#tn_film You'll just have to do your homework on any new tv you're thinking of buying. |

What ever you do don't base your LCD picture experience based on the rubbish the Harvard group churns out. Go into a Sony anda Panasonic retailer and look at the picture quality available. Move off axis to check how viewable the picture still is. Don't get into the FULL-HD rip off, for smallish screens HD-Ready is perfectly OK from a good maker.
