rubbish chocolates
Seems impossible to find a decent box of chocolates that are not cheap truffly crap.
Bought Black Magic recently, as a present. Apparently nothing like the old Black Magic. Cheap rubbish chocolate & pathetic fillings. Same with all the old favourites - Terry's/ Milk Tray etc. Does anyone make decent, reasonably priced chocolates anymore ? |

I find the supermarket own brand chocolates to be the best these days.
Whether they would be acceptable for presents or not, that's up to you. |

I still think you can't go wrong with Roses. Dairy Box used to be brilliant, but not so much now. Black Magic are crap.

Why not go to a specialist chocolatier then? Hotel Chocolat, Godiva etc- proper, decent, real chocolate with amazing fillings.
I'll not mention Thorntons - their stuff is about as good as Quality Street. |

Join The Chocolate Club.
They do handmade chocs and you get a box of different chocs every month. You can order particular ones if they tickle your fancy. They are top quality and to DIE for |

Another vote for Lindt. Always taste special, even though they are not super expensive.
M&S also do a good selection box (the red square one with 2 layers) |

I don't like chocolates much these days, think my taste buds have changed.
Milk Tray and Terrys All Gold - yuk! Godiva and Thorntons are ok. |

Thornton's offer variety and the chance to buy favourites rather than a selection boxes.
With half the other stuff you get more satisfaction from a Mars bar. |

Black magic are horrible cheap crap, always have been. Someone else mentioned hotel chocolat, they are very nice and have a plentiful range to choose from, some patisseries also do hand made chocs which are very nice. The nicest ones I had were when I went to Zurich, though they were very very expensive.

I'd rather get a big bag of Revels or Minstrels these days. Boxes of chocolates just taste so bland, like they have missed half the ingredients out or something.
If i want something sweet and tasty now i might just try something different like for example i bought some huge slices of nougat from a european market in town the other day. It was amazing, truly the most delicious thing i have tasted in a long time. I just havn't had anything as tasty chocolate wise for years. The best thing was a huge slab of hotel chocolat chocolate someone gave us for christmas which was scrumptious but i believe it cost about £30!!!!!!! |

I used to buy from Hotel Chocolat but when they put their mango strips prices up by £2.50, I stopped buying. Then there is the delivery charge of £3.95! I have found cheaper mango chocolate on Amazon with cheaper delivery.

I tried some Galaxy bites recently and forgotten just how nice galaxy chocolate is.
So that gets my vote for the yummiest chocolate.
