So Bioware have attempted to defend their launch day DLC release by saying " we didn't start development till we had completed Mass Effect 3 "
So that means the same day you charge me £45 for your new game , your also gonna charge me 1200 - 1500 Microsoft points for content which you could easily put in the game My question is , is this new trend of holding back sections of the a game and then making us pay extra ethical I love DLC when its released 6 or 7 months after the game launches such as Shivering isles and knights of the nine But I think its Bullsh*it what Bioware and EA are doing And its even more bullsh*t that I will still probably buy the DLC on launch day :P And before some fanboy pops up and says something like " Bioware and EA are there to make money I'm just glad to get more content " All you have to do is look at how Rockstar handled La Noire and its DLC , on launch day there were 3 pieces of DLC released with 2 more scheduled for the next 2 months But if you bought a new copy of the game you got the Rockstar Pass which gave you free access to all DLC and any future DLC That is how launch day DLC should be handled |

So what is the day one DLC? Is it critical to the storyline?
If the're going to charge hefty amount then I don't think I'll be getting any of the DLC. |

And I'm not to sure about what else is with the first DLC pack But I've read it will be about £8 ( but I don't think that's been confirmed yet ) Oh also thought I'd mention the Prothean squadmate has a Jamaican accent haha |

Later I got live, and have played all those games with almost all the DLC, it really isn't fair to say it's holding back sections of the game because the missions and characters are totally peripheral to the story being told. Lets face it, Bioware games in there most basic form no dlc will give you a good 40 hours playtime first run through if you do everything, and if you playthough all the various choices double tripple or quadrouple that. 100+ hours entertainment for 40 quid? personally I think thats good value for money, and all those hours of gameplay cost money to develop. Do I have a problem with developers putting aditional content out aimed at more dedicated fans at an extra cost? Personally, no. like I said, the games work as stand alone experiences, but if you are really into the game and want extra content over and above the standard 40 odd hours game time (God knows how much if you add in multiplayer). The minute the DLC starts becoming integral to the plot or equiptment that you need to complete the game then its a problem, but at the moment its just not. If i'd picked up mass effect 2 - DLC and thought "this is lacking something" i'd get the point, but playing through it now with all the DLC its a nice addition but nothing more. There is a lot wrong with EA/Bioware (the fact that they let dragon age 2 get past the playtesting stage for one) but honestly there DLC policy isn't one of them. If you are silly enough/obsessed enough to pay 400 ms points for alternate outfits fine, but thats not holding back bits of the game. The day one DLC is just the stuff we always knew would be in the collectors edition but not the standard game, its designed for people who bloody love mass effect not the casual fan, why not put it up for people who couldn't get the collectors edition? For me its no worse than putting out a directors cut of a film. |

It comes out in a week and 11 hours in NA, but we still have to wait a week and 4 days
![]() DAMMIT WHY CAN'T IT BE THIS TIME ON FRIDAY THE 9TH OF MARCH ![]() Anyone played much of the multiplayer, if so what are your thoughts on it? I really like it, though it's not as deep as it might seem and not as difficult either, but with the addition of more enemies and different maps as well as my stats being reset then it should be fresh when ME3 comes out. |

Annoyances about the multiplayer (PS3):
1) Loading. And more loading. With a bit more loading for good measure. And then some loading. 2) Sprinting. Sorry, 'storming' Because you have to hold X you cant use your thumb to pan the camera whilst you sprint, which I find massively irritating.3) Game freezing momentarily when a new wave is announced. 4) Enemy turrets are overpowered. 5) Vanguards charging in and kill-stealing. Other than that I quite enjoy it. |

I like the multiplayer but I think there needs to be more enemy variation.
I also found it ridiculously hard at first but by the time I get to level 10 or so, I could get through bronze and silver challenges with a good squad. Still no luck with gold though, that was insane

Yeah I've not finished a gold challenge yet. Unlocked the Krogan warrior, which is a beast! He can one hit kill centurions with his melee.
I keep getting a bug where the sound of the combat cuts out and all I can hear is the ambient background noise. |

I cringe when ever i see or hear "kill stealing" in relation to mass effect 3 multiplayer.
It's a co-op game, you are supposed to work as a team to complete the challenge, if you are getting wound up about who pulls the trigger you are thinking about the game wrong. It's a team challenge, where you work together to complete the challenge in front of you, not try and rack up the most points in the little leader board. Vangaurds have to charge in, its how the character is designed to work. They take fire and get kills to allow support characters to function better. |

Is there anyone out there who prefers maleshep to femshep
Almost everyone I've asked prefers femshep and I agree But I can't put my finger on why ? Is it because the voice acting for femshep us better or is it just more interesting as a woman |

Strange, becuase I often play female characters in fantasy RPGS, yet I seem to prefer male characters in Sci-fi. |

I'm going to name my next character Jennifer for the same reason bitebug
Whilst I think Mark Meer is talented in other roles, I feel Hale's delivery of lines is better than Meer's as Shepard. She brings the character to life for me and I think is much better at conveying a particular emotion more clearly without going overboard with it. I'm kind of a big Hale fan anyway so FemShep was always going to be my Shepard but after playing as both male and female Shepard, I do think her execution is better. For example, I tend to laugh more at a line if Hale says it than I do if Meer says it. |

I prefer maleshep, don't know why, I struggle to make a character that doesn't look like a chimp on steroids anyway so I just go for the default shep!

This the first time I've preordered with Game so I'm not familiar with their methods, but is there a chance to get it a day early? And is it delivered by Royal Mail or do they use another method? I just have to make sure someone is in my house when it gets delivered.

I always play as FemShep. I can't stand Mark Meer's Shepard, and think Jennifer Hale's voice acting is far superior. |
