I believe this is how the crew were supposed to be used;

Vents: Tali, Legion or Kasumi
Fire Team Leader: Garrus, Miranda, or Jacob
Biotic Specialist: Samara/Morinth or Jack
Fire Team Leader (Part 2): Garrus, Miranda, or Jacob
Escort: Mordin, Kasumi, Tali, or Jack

You also need to ensure you have all three Normandy upgrades: Armour, Shields, Cannon.

Got all upgrades fir the ship, and that list isn't to far from how iv'e been setting about the mission, a few tweeks and should hopefully nail it. I have a save right before you send someone into the tunnel (usally Tali).

What do you do with Zaeed?

The first time I completed Mass Effect 2, Legion died on the way back to the ship. When I tried again, I kept him on my squad during the final fight but he died after the platform crashed to the ground.

I never gained Zaeed's loyalty during his mission as the Blue Suns guy got away. Wasn't bother though. I didn't really care for the character.

I few tips

Zaeed - do not do his loyalty mission until after Horizon, you should have plenty of Paragon by then to pursuede him that he can do it after the mission.

He is a decent enough character with some good stories, but is a little fragile, lines on missions are good though.

I managed to loyal everyone except Jack, do not use any non loyals for any final missions and do not use any non loyals as squad mates.

Tech Tali, team 1 & 2 Garrus, Biotic Samara, escort Mordin, used Miranda and Grunt as my squad mates (favourite other characters along with Garrus, got the trophy for not getting any killed this time.

Do have one issue.

Full Paragon and I cannot get Jack as loyal - just a sulky miserable character I leave in the base of the ship.

To get Legion loyal chat to him, upgrade weapons after feeding fish then immediatley go to the heretic Geth base, now you have all except 1 loyal Jack or Miranda (prefer Miranda character)

1st play I left Grunt to guard the door - he died, so had to play the game again. Also lost Jack and Zaeed.

I'm glad I managed to playthrough ME2 before ME3 came out so that I could try and get a perfect save (no one dying on the last mission). Took me two tries to get no one to die, but it was so worth it! Roll on Mass Effect 3!

Will mirranda lawson be in mass effect 3 if she surrvies mass effect 2.

Yes.

It hasn't been said though if she will be a squadmate at all, just that she will be in the game if she survived.

Yeah, all my members are loyal I have full paragon status and my man shep is level 29 (it hit lvl 30 when I did the Arival dlc) gonna have a pop at the mission again later (as long as Skyrim or BF3 don't go near my PS).

How many squad members need to surrive mass effect 2 to get the good ending. I've already lost Thane,jack and kasumi I chose mordin to go through the core of the ship and Jacob to lead the fire team Ive got mirranda and garrus with me grunts with Jacob and I have no idea where tail and samara have disapered to also will mass effect 3 give me the option of of importing a save after starting a new game or do I have to do some complex thing?

Just finished mass effect 2 what an ending. I did well, by that I mean jacob jack kasumi garrus mordin and thane died but oh we'll Samara talia grunt and mirranda made it. Consider officially pumped for mass effect 3

To be honest, I think the final mission makes it blindingly obvious who to take. The characters pretty much tell you.

You need 100%, took me a while but had to max out one of my stats so paragon was 100%.
