Technika Remote Control Question

I hope this is the right place for this question, I am looking to buy a replacement remote controller for my Technika television, specifically a rc1055. I've been doing some browsing abd unfortunately I haven't found one for a Technika telly, however I have for a Hitachi, which looks exactly the same as the control I need, plus Technika is a subsidary company of Hitachi as far as I know, so the question is would a Hitachi remote control work on a Technika television?

Technika isn't a 'make' at all, it's just a brand name that Tesco's use, the set could be any make at all - except that it's going to be one as cheap as possible.

It's possible that your Technika is a cheap Vestel set, and many Hitachi sets are just Vestel ones, so the remotes 'may' be similar.

But Technika is certainly nothing to do with Hitachi.

Why don't you simply go to Tesco armed with the model of the TV ( Note that the RC 1055 is unlikely to help ) Even if the stores cant help surely there must be some back up ?

As far as I'm aware there's no backup whatsoever, the 'manufacturer' (in this case Tesco) are resonsible for ordering a suitable supply of spare parts when they order the TV's, and for providing service on the sets.

Tesco do neither, so there are no spares available, and no information available.

The same applies to all the Supermarkets, as far as I'm aware?.

If you knew someone with the same remote and you got an all-in-one control that could learn, then you could program it.

Perhaps someone nice on the internet could program the remote for you and mail it back?

Do a Google search but use the TVs model no rather than the RC no.

Google AVuk ltd. Have used them a number of times. They will supply a replacement remote for about £11 inc postage.

I successfully got a replacement recently for a Technika TV from: http://www.genuinecopies.tv/remotes/brands/technika.htm

Works well with all original functions although some keys are not in same location and may be marked different.
