Eastenders star Ray Panthaki suffered an alleged attack with a bottle during a night out, it has emerged.

Penthaki, 25, who plays Ronny ferreira in the soap, needed hospital treatment following the incident in the VIP suite of a nightclub in Gants Hill, Essex.

A spokesman for the BBC said that Mr Panthaki was the subject of an unprovoked attack, and will be taken a few days off to recuperate.

Maybe he was attacked because his character is so hated?! Thats kind of low if it is...

Well definetely unncecessary. They're only human, they can't help if their characters have been written terribly.

At least hes ok and not mroe seriously hurt, I know a lot of us hate his whol enders family but I would hate it if he got hurt outside of the soap.

That is so low! Some people are just... arggh!

some people clearly are unable to differentiate between what's real and what is fiction!

That's really awful.. and so is the idea that they could refer to the kidney transplant storyline as a form of art! But seriously, it's not Ray's fault that his character is unsuccessful.. And even if it was, that's still nowhere close to making it justifiable for anyone to attack him.
